Artist in need of Author...

I don't know if this is the correct board to post this, but I'm an artist who needs a writer. I've tried writing myself--it doesn't work too well. Anyway, you can check out my old comic here it's only about 15 comics long, or just check the EXTRAS page if you're in a rush. As you can probably see, I'm very good at emulating video game style graphics (Broken Swords comes from FFT). Working on a video game based comic would be prefered, but it is not nessecary. Anyway, if anyone was thinking of starting up a webcomic or needed an artist for, well, whatever, just drop a line in this thread. thanks!

I could write, but I need an artist. What I can draw sucks to all hell.

im ok at drawing(giving self way too much credit) but im too head strong to ask for help.

I'd like to call myself a good writer, but I'm also lazy and staggeringly unfunny. PM me if you want to see something. I'll try and throw together a script or something.

I'll take on the job if you would like <I really love writing>, as long as you give me some artistic license to work with the storyline.

Three responses in under 24 hours. wow. The only way to resolve this is a WRITE-OFF! GO GO GO!

why don't you guys try telling me the type of comics you'd like to do. Are we talking fantasy, college-dorm or whatever? The more details the better. Since my job will solely be to turn your ideas into pictures, i'd like to at least be able to choose what form of comic im working with.

A write off? Ok then. Give me a few days and assuming I get motivated, I'll get you something.

jgarre 01-27-2004 06:04 PM

i was kidding about the write-off....but i wouldn't mind seeing a writing sample.

Funny stuff? I can write. I do mostly fantasy, and I'm not the best at the fast wit and such, but I do wry humor very well, and am just crazy enough to be unpredictable at times. Never tried anything comic-ish. If you want more super-hero-ish, I can definitely do that, as the root of my writing carreer came out of a long series of a ill drawn marvel-style super heroes that I would invent storylines to.

Actually a write off would be a good way to determine who you want as your resident writer. You could give out a theme that you want written under (Theme: This story is about/pertains to X, where X is the theme. Heh.), characters you want written, and possibly, a resume of written/published works.

Give the competition that, and I'll still take em' all down! Ask anyone! Demon with a Glass Hand is the one you want.

(PS. Though it isn't a bad idea to have a pool of writers, too!)
