Guitar Hero III prayers
Alright, I know it's only been a few weeks, but I still feel like mentioning this.
What's your picks for GH3? I have a couple I was thinking about Nightwish - Dead Gardens Machinae Supremacy - Hero Anything by the Black Mages Anything from the Guilty Gear soundtrack Rob Zombie - Two Lane Blacktop Thoughts? Also: Is there a freeware rythm game like Beatmania for Guitar Hero plugins? |

Oh Lord, please, Metallica. For the love of God. Ride the Lightning would be ideal, but anything pre-Load would be great.
Also, something by Radiohead. Paranoid Android or Electioneering or Just. Parabola by Tool would be amazing. And Mega Man 2 by the Minibosses. Tell me that wouldn't be fun in co-op. |
Foo Fighters - Everlong
Radiohead - I Might Be Wrong (the live version, not the studio one) The Killers - Somebody Told Me |
More punk rock and hardcore would be appreciated on my end. I really don't get how little punk they've had: they make perfect songs for the easiest two levels, honestly, and they've only put the Ramones and Bad Religion on there in the main section before. Every Time I Die! is really the only representative in the new game, and it's a bonus song. (I suppose you could also make an argument for Suicidal Tendencies, but they're kind of a weird hybrid genre band.)
Seriously, put some NOFX on there. Black Flag would be awesome. Maybe Alkaline Trio. Rise Against is another good one. Thrice (in particular the song "Deadbolt") would be a good choice for some hard songs. Non-punk suggestions would be the Pixies, Arch Enemy, or Children of Bodom. |
No Use for a Name would not be unappreciated.

I'll take anything by Reel Big fish or The Aquabats, RBF's "Where Have You Been?" and The 'Bats "Sequence Erase" seem to be obvious choices. |
I would like to see Dragonforce on there, love them and their speed, song of choice "Through the Fire and Flames". Also would like Mudvayne's "Happy?" to be on there. Anything by Tool.
|
Actually, scrap that. Just give me Feeder. Everyone knows Feeder
|
Stairway to Heaven - Led Zeppelin
I could see it being the Freebird of GH3 if Zep would let them have the rights Hotel California - The Eagles While My Guitar Gently Weeps or Taxman or Helter Skelter or Revolution - The Beatles Purple Haze or All Along the Watchtower - Jimi Hendrix Comfortably Numb - Pink Floyd Has anybody else noticed that GH and GHII have had songs with the same title as songs from The Wall, but were completely different? "Hey You" and "Mother." |
Mirai Gen, if you grab FOF. PM me for the MASSIVE 114 song collection.
If you haven't gone hunting already that is. |

I did, however, play the shit out of both games. |
I think that Gituar Hero 3 should have Bohemian Rhapsody. I know its not the most gituar heavy song. but none the less it is awsome.

Stairway to Heaven, now that one I think you could actually make work. |
So, I looked over the tracklists for both games on Wikipedia, and aside from wanting to play those now a lot, can anyone explain to me how the developers could have committed such a gross act of oversight?
Nothing at all by Neil Young? Not one song? Phooey, I say. Phooey. |
Quote:
ZING! |
I agree with fifth and notasfatasmike, on Bohemian Rhapsody and with fifth and Elflad on Stairway to Heaven, also Hotel California. Also AC/DC, It's a Long Way to the Top as a finale.
The game would of course have to come with a 50s Australian school boy outfit. |
I'm willing to gamble they're going to put another Ozzie song on GHIII.
My money's on Paranoid. |
Juice by Steve Vai. Now THERE's a fairly difficult song for you kids to shred your fingers over. Actually, anything by Steve Vai would be ideal. That guy's a real Guitar Hero.
|

You, sir, will be canonized. |
What genre is No Use for a Name?
If they could be in Guitar Hero, and Fifth and shiney like them...they can't be all bad. |

And that's only until I can personally come down there. No ocean between us, boy! |

I'd like to see all the people who can 5-star BATM, CFH, Freebird and H18 take that on. |
Jumpin' Jack Flash- The Rolling Stones
Satisfaction- The Rolling Stones Substitute- The Who Hair of the Dog- Nazarth Casey Jones- The Greatful Dead Come- Fleetwood Mac I'm so Afraid-Fleetwood Mac The Final Countdown-Europe Waiting For the Sun- The Doors People are Strange- The Doors That's all I can think of right now... DBS |

I'd like to see "Sail On" by Master Plan, that'd be awesome.
Of course, more Guns N Roses and Metallica would also be great. And Dethklok. Gimme more Dethklok, please. |

1. Kill, maim, rape, burn, pillage, to get the game & play that song. 2. Find out where you live, fly there, and raise a temple in your honor. I simply adore that song. Anyway, my personal playlist would be something like this: Machinae Supremacy - Hero, Player one, Empire Tool - Aenima, Parabola, Eulogy Therion - Symphony of the Dead More Trogdor Anything by Steve Vai, Yngwie Malsteem (I'm thinking Yngwie's Icarus Dream Fanfare) Children of Bodom - Everytime I die Santana - Put your lights on System of a Down - Johnny Anything by Disturbed Tetsuya Shibata - Dante's Office Hell battle (It's the rock music from the first mission in Devil May Cry 3) |
SOMEONE ELSE KNOWS OF THIS BAND!?
You, sir, will be... Um, not cannonized...but I so COMPLETELY shake your hand. |

I think I left a couple out of my original post: Still Remains - Recovery (Although, now that I think about it, Still Remains is one of those "band of Christians" metalcore bands, which doesn't bug me, but would probably be a big "no" on actually going into the game. Oh well, we're talking hypotheticals. Also, might just be to justify my ego, since my girlfriend was once in a band with their new guitar player.) Escape the Fate - There's No Sympathy for The Dead From First to Last - Ride the Wings of Pestilence (I hesitate to say this, because their new album is SO unbelievably bad, but I have to admit that this song is one of my favorites.) |
i submit for your approval: Jabberjaw, by Pain
|
Prince Charming by Metallica.
|
Um, sorry for bumping, but I assume it's forgivable if I have something worthwhile to add.
I want to see: Boston - Peace of Mind The Beach Boys - 409, I Get Around, or Help Me Rhonda Chuck Berry - Johnny B. Goode CCR - Green River, Up Around the Bend, I Heard It Through the Grapevine, or Bad Moon Rising David Bowie - Suffragette City, Hang On To Yourself, The Man Who Sold the World, or Starman Elvis Presley - Viva Las Vegas Jimi Hendrix - Castles Made of Sand Jimmy Eat World - Get It Faster Kansas - Dust in the Wind, Fight Fire With Fire, or Point of Know Return Pink Floyd - Careful With that Axe, Eugene Queen - Crazy Little Thing Called Love Rolling Stones - Satisfaction, Start Me Up Wolfmother - Joker and the Thief Also, I'd like to see some of the old garage rock standards in the Opening Licks The Troggs - Wild Thing The Kingsmen - Louie Louie Those are famous for being easy to play, and it's be nice to have an "I Love Rock 'n' Roll" type song. Namely, one that's a good introduction to each level of difficulty. Also, if we can talk about the types of guitarists we'd like to see represented in GH3, I'd like to see a Surf Rocker (possibly as an alternate costume for Clive or Eddie Knox). |
Oh goodness yes... Hotel Califonia!
Basically anything a'la the Chaps Brothers. The system is down, or a Trogdor Remix. |
I love the GH games. I think constantly about songs suitable for inclusion.
Off hand, some of the songs I'd love to see on GHIII include:
Clearly, there are many, many songs yet to make the jump. |
How about a Wii port?
Huh?! How about it Activision?! You said every major console would get GHII! There are still freaking line-ups for the Wii two months after launch, with no production shortages! Is that not a major console?! You're already making a wacky peripheral for the other two platforms, it isn't a graphics intensive game, so what's the deal?! |
The Animals ~ House of the Rising Sun
Papa Roach ~ Getting away with Murder Dropkick Murphey's ~ Shipping up to Boston. |
Christ this is like the exact opposite of the Guitar Hero forums. Pretty much everyone suggests Norweagen black metal bands who write songs with growling lyrics about burning churches, and if you dare disagree then prepare for verbal abuse.
I saw a kid today, he said he wanted Stairway to Heaven and maybe some Chili Peppers. He was told that he was a fucking dumbass and was asked how he managed to breathe. Jeez, I don't know why I even go there anymore. Any thread basically degenerates to "DRAGONFORCE FOR GHIII!" "NO YOU FAG DRAGONFARCE BLOWS", etc. |
Yes, it's amazing how the tenor of a forum changes once you start excluding the people who call other people fags who're too dumb to breathe.

No. Gimme a hokey plastic ukulele like the other kids have.
I mean, Wii-functional? Would that involve, like, spinning the guitar by its strap over your shoulders? Gesturing setting it ablaze? Throwing your shirt? What manner of carnage could arise from encouraging people to further rock out when bowling causes hospital visits?! |
I'm guessing it'd just be a nunchauk attatchment.
Sure, you could try and make a Wii motion sensitive thing, and make it so you hold the wiimote part in the air about where the frets are, then strum the nunchauk attatchment next to your crotch. But it would be clumsy and hard to play since the buttons would be the only way to hold them, and good luck playing Expert on that. That, and you look like you're playing an air guitar with a remote-controlled dildo. |
I'd just want a normal guitar controller, possibly with an extra feature or two, at most.
Also: House of the Rising Sun -The Animals's version. |
All I can think of when it comes to the Wii version, is not Guitar Hero, but Trombone Hero...
More Count Zero, More Honest Bob and the Factory-to-Dealer Incentives, more songs! Also The Aquabats' "Danger Woman" could work awesomely, along with something by Reel Big Fish. They in game = Me imploding from awesomeness! |
Blue Öyster Cult's "Don't Fear The Reaper" would open up a whole new can of rock. (You could even make a cowbell track for the Wii version. Damn that sketch, I'll never be able to listen to that song without laughing again.)
I'd also go for just about anything by The Gun Club or NoMeansNo. As for Neil Young, I've always been partial to Dangerbird, but once again anything works. |
Oh, yeah, Count Zero, Honest Bob, and the Acrobrats had some of the best bonus songs in both games.
I hope Shaimus, The Slip, and Brian Kahanek are all able to come back for the next one. |
Oh come on! I didn't get a single laugh with my dildo joke?
I still think that Machine Supremacy's Hero should be the new top-tier song. It's so blindingly fast it'd be perfect in all ways. Sure, it doesn't quite have that nigh-impossible Free Bird aspect to it, but I'm sure it deserves to be in the final bracket at least. |
I'd just LOVE Led Zepplin (Stairway to Heaven...although that was thrashed T_T) or Rage Against the Machine (Sleep Now in the Fire)
|
Guitar Hero for Wii? Make the console sense the guitar neck's position and make your character's pose on-screen correspond to what you do. Might be just a gimmick, but there's also the possibility of awarding extra points for rock star poses. Kinda like Star Power.

"Yeah, like anyone's going to catch me doing that again..." There, you happy? |
Much better. You may return to your normal conversation.

My Chemical Romance is an exclusive song for the 360 version of GH2 coming out soon.
Not even the addition of Pearl Jam and Alice Cooper can amend this. |
Australian national pride dictates that, if an AC/DC song is in the game, sales will rise sharply and it will be hailed as one of the best games ever made.
Well, not really, but it could happen. |

|
ok, i got one for ya.. "Shotgun Blues" by the Blues Brothers
|
Akamaz receives a well-deserved hand shake for the Blues Brothers suggestion. Mirai receives my everlasting admiration & respect for proposing Hero.
I got a couple more songs I'd actually like to see in GH 3: Blue Man Group - The Current Puscifer - The Undertaker & Revelation 22:20 NESkimoes - Super Mario Brothers tune! |
you can't go wrong with a song with a solo by Matt "Guitar" Murphy... i think they need to add a few more bluesey type songs
|
Quote:
More people need to listen to them. |
I was just listening to Sonic Youth. In particular, early "Confusion is Sex" era Sonic Youth. Putting a song from that album in Guitar Hero would be brutal - you probably wouldn't even be able to tell what the guitar part was supposed to *be*. Which is, of course, why it should be included; they have to keep raising the bar on Expert mode *somehow*.
On a similar note: The Shaggs. I am a bastard. |
"Billion Dollar Babies" by Alice Cooper, "Dead!" by My Chemical Romance, "Hush" by Deep Purple, "Life Wasted" by Pearl Jam, "Rock 'n' Roll Hoochie Koo" by Rick Derringer, "Possum Kingdom" by Toadies, "Salvation" by Rancid and "The Trooper" by Iron Maiden are just eight of the ten bonus tracks exclusive to the 360 version.

And now, a few of the achievements:
Eddie Van Halen Award — Got a 500 note streak Life of the Party — Bought all characters Record Collector — Bought all songs Big Spender — Spent $10,000 at store Perfectionist — Got 100% on a song 200k Club — Got 200,000 points in a song Rock Snob Award — Refused to play an encore Scoremonger — Got an 8x multiplier Aside from the Eddie Van Halen and Perfectionist, they seem mighty achievable to me. The Rock Snob one is genius though. |
Eh, I've gotten all of those. I got 100% on every song in Medium, six songs in Hard, and one song in Expert. I've definitely got a few 500 note streaks.
|
The EVH award isn't even the hardest note streak award. That honor goes to the Yngwie Malmsteen award, for 1000 notes consecutively hit. That's gonna be a doozy.
That, the Just Start A Band Already award (5-star every song on Expert), the Kick the Bucket award (beat Jordan on Expert) and the Plant and Page Award (one of the co-op ones, I forget what you had to do but it was hard) are gonna be the hardest. |
Five-starring Fall of Pangea sounds cry-worthy.
|
Alright for songs
Tool- Schism or The Pot. Great guitar work that seems to last forever Rammstein- sehnsucht or maybe keine lust. something thats doesn't rely on too much keyboard. The Tragically Hip- New Orleans Is Sinking. Yes before you spam me with hate for the title, take a listen to the song. great guitar work. if they can have some easier stuff in GH 2 why not this one? Primus Feat. Ozzy - NIB. Awesome bass riff off the begining and just the whole song kicks ass Disturbed- Stricken. Its Disturbed. It rocks. Enough said\ AC/DC- Thunderstruck. Make those fingers bleed with that opening. Rebel Meets Rebel- Nothing To Lose. RIP dimebag. Great guitar work by the late great dimebag, but what song by him isn't great as for add ins, play the old GH with the GH 2/3 addins like co-op. and hopefully some pedals |
I might buy the 360 version just for "The Trooper", holy S^$#! I like the bass more than the guitar in that song though.
|
I would want-
Don't Fear the Reaper by Blue Oyster Cult Paint it Black by The Rolling Stones The Kids Aren't Alright by The Offspring More Ramones. Anything really. If This House is a Rockin' by Stevie Ray Vaughn would make a good intro song. Californication or Under the Bridge by Red Hot Chili Peppers Dammit by Blink 182 |
It amazes me that they've shot in a couple of references to Don't Fear The Reaper in both Guitar Hero games, yet it still has not made an appearance.
I'd go for Godzilla, personally. |
Howdy dudes. First post in the NPF. Here's a few songs that I thing would work well with the next GTH game:
-"Rock Around The Clock" by Bill Haley & His Comets (A landmark in the history of rock) -"Johnny B. Goode" by Chuck Berry (Another landmark in the history of rock) -"Rock You Like A Hurricane" by The Scorpions (This absolutely rocks) -"Crazy Train" by Ozzy Osbourne (This one's a shoe-in) -"Beat It" by Michael Jackson & Eddie Van Halen (Vicious Guitar Solo) -"Hot For Teacher" by Van Halen (Demonstrates Eddie Van Halen's amazing skill at shredding) -"Welcome To The Jungle" by Guns n' Roses (Guns n' Roses just rock, that's all there is to it) -"Dream On" and/or "Walk This Way" by Aerosmith (These are a couple of my favorite Aerosmith songs) -"Trilogy Suite Op: 5" by Yngwie Malmsteen (Or anything by the father of shred for that matter) -"Spiderman" by The Ramones (Just plain fun) -"Smells Like Teen Spirit" by Nirvana (I would love to see more Nirvana in the future) -"Rock the Joint" by The Reverend Horton Heat (The Rev sure does know how to rock the joint) -"Tribute" or "Wonderboy" by Tenacious D (These are fun, funny, and could be fairly challenging) -"Through The Fire And Flames" by Dragonforce (Though over seven minutes of nonstop shredding is a bit of a marathon) Also it would rock to hear an extended version of "Duncan Hills Coffee Jingle" or "Murdertrain A Comin'" by Dethklok on the bonus tracks. |
I was blown away that "trogdor" was included in GHII. I would like to see more stuff like that - a little more internet sub-culture thrown in, ya know?
|
I think that Through Fire And Flames will be in GHIII. Not only has there been just about every single mod you could possibly name for Dragonforce, but it could very simply replace Jordan before it as the toughest song in Guitar Hero.
Not saying that it will, but it could. |
S.R. (The many versions of) by Reel Big Fish. Banter or no banter, it would still be funny to play and kinda difficult switching from style to style. Also, if they do add a pedal for GHIII, the disco version would be an excellent song to show it off with.
GHIII features in general, they should add a "create a difficulty for practice mode" mode, where you pick what difficulty each segment of the song is. Ultimately, it wouldn't add much, but it could be good fun. |
Since I don't feel like reading through 8 pages, I might have some duplicates.
Come Out and Play - Offspring Syncronicity - The Police Something from Metalocalypse A Whole New World - Alladin Soundtrack :P Eruption - Van Halen Anything by Talking Heads Highway to Hell - AC/DC Um, what's the name of that one song with the trippy beat and "Kick 'em while they're down!" as the chorus? |

I just thought it would be funny.
|
Maybe "Be prepared" from The Lion King would be better?
|
Now that I think about it, I would love to hear more blues in the next game. Some more Stevie Ray Vaughan and get some B.B. King.
I remember that Texas Flood tied for my favorite song on the first game (with Bark at The Moon). |
