I just saw this today... so the guys who did Matrix and V for Vendetta are going to produce the Speed Racer movie... which aparently is alread underways...

this sound scary for me...

seens like they only accepted this project under the warranty that they could do something totally new with the genre (High speed racing)

which soudns even scarier...

Its seens that its due for the US summer on 08

I can't wait for this. I fully anticipate that this will - no, that this must - be the greatest of the great incredibly shitty movies of our time.

... also: Is this supposed to be animated, or live-action?

Poor Snakes on a Plane, it deserved the title longer than that. I mean it was batshit insane, but this, this is the pure incarnation of mindfuck.

Eh, Snakes on the Plane was just your ordinary shitty movie with an ad blitz behind it.

This... this is like every shitty movie ever made, piled together into one glorious steaming mound of putrid biological waste.

I thought we were excluding B-movies and foreign ones, just mainstream, because in that context Snakes was king shit, but out there, there is stuff Speed Matrixer doesn't even touch.

Naw I mean to be truly king shit, it would have had to have at minimum

- A top-dawg evil snake who you knew was evil in some way because he kept ripping off Samuel L. Jackson's moves

- Samuel L. Jackson having to compete against a snake in some form of highly stylized urban ritual of manhood, in order to prove his worth in the eyes of his father

- Kung-Fu

- Hella hawt skank bitches, and at least one of the following of a locker room scene, a bikini-carwash scene, a strip club scene, or beach volleyball, regardless of the extent to which any of these are thematically appropriate or related to the plot

- An coach and/or other surrogate father figure whose tragic death finally spurs Samuel L. Jackson into surmounting his fears and confronting the snake menace

- Mandy Moore, playing either a suffering do-gooder who has been unjustly denied the natural right to success and the adulation of her peers that is her right as a pretty white girl, or a dutiful child of priviledge who longs to express her wild side (Acceptable alternative: Hillary Duff)

- Drift racing

I am supremely confident that Speed Racer will manage to include most if not all of the above.

I was talking about great shitty movies, not painful nonsense.

Its going to be live action, but sense its from Speed racer (an odd concept for a movie) i've putted in here... feel free to move it if you like (althought that sentece was kinda redundant)

Im not sure what will scary me the most... speed racer movie (Speed racer song made by then Foo Fighters and Speed been played by Ellijah wood?) or the Castlevania movie

It certainly was.

But yeah I mean, we've done all the Transformers-movie threads in General. I'm gonna call that precedent.
