Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children
 

This one hour cg movie being produced by Square Enix is due out this Summer and it is rumored to be pairing up with a re-release of FF7 to go on sale as a boxed set. I don't know if this has already been talked about, I just thought it was pretty friggin cool.

Go here to see the full trailer. I had to download a codec to view avi movies, but I don't think you guys should have a problem. It takes place two years after the events of FF7. It says that it will include 20 characters, some old some new, including Cloud, Barret, and Sephiroth. Oh, and possibly Vincent.

Thoughts? Expectations? Theories?

This topic has been done at least three times, but no one mentioned the part about a final fantasy 7 re-release. I think that might be cool, seeing as I've never played it.

I've heard rumors about the re-release from numerous web sites and it just seems too circulated and too believable not to be true. From what I've heard it will include enhanced graphics but there's also a bunch of theories lingering. Such as there being a way to resurrect Aeris and such.

Bah. I'd rather they made a new Final Fantasy game than just made FF7 "look better" and finally submitted to the cries of the gameplayers as they mourned Aeris' death.

How exactly would remaking FF7 submit to the cries of gameplayers as they mourned (And loved the fact that) Aeris died? She would still die, just in better graphics...

I'm referring to the rumors that there will be a way to resurrect Aeris.

Box set, eh? Hm....but the summer release date is for Japan, no? I was going to get the import, but I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to afford it. As much as I would love seeing FF7 with "improved graphics" (which I suspect will just be a resolution change ala OoT:Master Quest), it would suck to play through it not understanding what anyone's talking about. Guess I'll just have to try and save up.

If you can revive Aeris, it would probably just let her in your party. I doubt they would change the story so she is counted as alive, otherwise the story would be much different.

probably just a rez at the end(while you're doing all the other sidequests) with a different ending would be fine

damn the playstation 2. damn it to hell. and damn its $200 price tag. im still getting the movie tho.
