Hmmm, I am left with quite a conundrum. I had hoped to have the battle finished by now, but events just don't seem to be converging to an ending very neatly. It feels a little all over the place to me.

Having two of the posts afte rmy last post needing a bit of, shall we say, recalibration also makes it a little harder on deciding the right thing to do. I'm thinking of having the League withdraw, although I'm not finished devising a good means of accomplishing this.

Still, I'm going to try and have something up later today, but I did feel the need to point out that while Tarrin's quite effectively managed to remove Thod from the picture, a certain other act could make the battle much more difficult. I'll be seeing if anyone catches it and knows the right course of action to take.

Well, I assumed that Rei threw me before the blast hit me....and can we assume the Sphienx's screwed? I mean she's got a pissed-off lamia coiled about her, she's got a venom in her that's wreaking havoc with her blood vessels, and she's on fire.

Not to mention the Magikarp flopping around and distracting her by being a fish while she's a cat.

The hydra also, is most likely screwed. That mongoose is gona rip it a new one! As for the boulder, werent you going to drain it Arhra?

We can't let them escape! If they escape, they can come back as recurring enemies, and recurring enemies are a bitch to take down. Just look at any fictional characters that always seem to escape, they just WON'T go down!

They escaped. This fight has gone longer than I had wanted as it is.

Events have been moving far too slowly for my liking so now everyone, this is how it is going to be.

Fights will be shorter. A battle of lower difficulty (pretty much anything lower than a subboss fight) will last about 1-3 rounds of posting, generally use my posts as a guage. Harder battles will last longer, things like the Caryatid fights taking up to five.

This means a few things. First of all, if you fall behind, you will be left behind. I do not want hanging actions and responses holding things up as they have been.

Beacause there will be less posts per fight, some of you will likely have to show a little more back and forth in your posts, a little more predicting of responses. Its more interesting to have a little bit of a fight before launching a stronger attack than 'I cast a spell' too. Many of my posts of enemy actions have to be fairly straightforward, as I have a lot of things to address in any one battle post. If you want more, you'll have to make it up yourself.

Also, in general, some people don't seem to be doing much about the effects of attacks upon their person. I dislike this, as it can easily border on godmodding. Its up to you to remember about any injuries that might suffer and not just have your character shrugging off all attacks.

This shorter timing of fights will also make any team-up manevoures something a little more special. Make sure you remember this when doing something like that. Originality is a plus, not just piling a bunch of random attacks on some person.

Next post we will be at the Water Temple.

Bravo Newb, very well done. While I won't use a post in the RP for this, all can assume that I'm clapping delightedly.

Mr.McSpiff 12-10-2006 12:11 AM

Hi, I'm back. I'd like to ask if I can join the next Avatar RP that rolls around. I've become a much better RPer and will do my best to refrain from being a douche.
