I'm tempted to just give the sphinx NPF ADDventures Core Rulebook XIII of XVI: The Book of Riddles That Are Too Damn Hard and then sneak off while she's distracted, but I don't want to end up like poor Skyshot.

Then again, being followed by a lovestruck sphinx might not necessarily be a bad thing, so long as I don't trip up.

Oh and one question regarding Sphinxs' shield: You say it's weak against solid impacts, so would my airblasts work? I mean they are practically solid air and all.

Also think about the fact that Flares attack was rebounded and that your attack would (i believe) be no more solid that that...

But that is just what i see from my view.

I'de call that pretty solid really!

But the question I asked was not whether they are solid air, rather it was "how effective will they be against the current enemies shield?"

Also, Flares flare is fundamentaly different in nature than my blasts. While both are elemental in nature, mine are highly condensed, pressurised spheres of said element, whereas Flares are just fire, albeit a very powerful form of fire, what with it being a flare attack and all.

To be fair, Flare, I wasn't controlling your character, I was controlling my character throwing your character. Unless you're referring to the dialogue, in which case I just needed something to fill the narrative, and it was an inconsequential smattering of words intended for comedic effect, anyway.

Hmmm, it would appear that there's some significant misunderstandings about what's going on. Possibly I was a little unclear in some areas.

Newb. No. Just no. The riddle was simply meant to show what the effect being created was. Solving it does nothing. Secondly, by 'unable to block solid projectiles', I was simply pointing out its a mirror. Mirrors tend to get broken if you do things like throwing big heavy rocks at them.

While I'm on this note, Hawk, no they wouldn't work. Magic can complicate things... so I'm saying unless its something with actual, physical substance, it doesn't count.

POS, you also seem to be a little confused. To clarify quickly, Flare did attack the hydra, the sphinx created a shield for the hydra which reflected the attack. This combined with Hawk's little wind ball created a rather large (and dangerous) explosion, headed upwards and spreading enough to get everyone who's airborne since they're reasonably close together.

For general reference, there's two shields around right now. The mirror protecting the hydra and the triple shield the sphinx has. You can pass through the hydra's mirror shield, I'm having it as the sort that's hazy and insubtantial until there's a projectile to block (Since I'm sure its bound to come up, yes, a person hurled at reasonably high speed would count as a projectile). Its reasonably tight in against the hydra, being inside it would mean you are in range of its attacks.

The sphinx's triple shield is still in effect, its simply a trio of disk shaped shields about two feet across are not particualrly good at blocking certain attacks like ice boulders and thrown people. They will block most attacks they can by interposing, including some melee attacks. As I've said already, they do have a flaw and I've given a clue to it.

While I think of it, when you're the person stopping someone from falling from a great height, you can do whatever you like to them!

Also, a pity there's no sign of Skyshot.

Well, far as I know the ship's still in the tail of the comet and can't get a signal out. I've had some ideas for ways to spice up that little side plot, but I've left that up to Arhra.
