Also, who uses the "drool/rule" line anymore? That is such an old and rarely used line.

Well in this case it wasn't so much Fighter being smart than it was him repeating what someone else has already said.

The thing about Fighter is, while he's not the shiniest sword in the armoury, his education seems to have been excellent. From what I can recall off the top of my head he was taught combat, mechanics, philosophy and at least one second language.

Yeah he's kind of like an old attic. Mostly a bunch of junk was thrown in it, but every once in a while you find some impressive stuff up there that was left behind.
