Final Fantasy Unlimited, Seen it?

I've been watching final fatasy unlimited on youtube and been trying to hunt down the series when I got thinking, "has anyone in the whole of Canada besides me seen this?" So here's the question. Has anyone in the whole of Canada besides me seen Final Fantasy Unlimited and if you have, what were your impressions of it?

Ask a silly question.....Yes I have seen it, Im Puerto Rican by the way. I own the box set, good story but kinda predictable at first. Most people that watch it are going to come in expecting a more traditional FF story. Most of said people find it to be meh, In my personal opinion it was good and a nice way to spend the time.

I found it far too repetitive, then rushed at the end ('cause of the falling ratings). It's ok, but you have to remember that its target audience is young children (like, elementary-middle school), so I guess its good considering the age bracket its was aimed at.

PS It has chocobos and a guy named Cid, a guy named Cid, what else does it need to be Final Fantasy?

It also has summons! and a few thousan references to every freaking FF game made before it!

I found it really repetitive, but, it could easily turn into something great if Square were more caring about it

Also, im NOT promoting my sig in this topico I + AM = NOT!

I seen it up until like the 5th volume (There's 7 in the original un-boxed set. I believe there's 4/5 in the boxed set.) Apparently, I liked other things better. The english voice actors also need a lesson in "GOOD" voice acting. Like, take lessons from Aa! Megamisama, Grenadier, etc. Maybe throw in Excel Saga to make them worse.

Don't think you read the entire description. Did it say anywhere that it was made by SQUARESOFT/SQUARE ENIX? I believe it was made by ADV/Bandai or some other bigshot company I'm missing from this post.

Yes, 'cause we all know that animation companies can use a trademarked name whenever they want. And, yes, Square was involved in the production of the series (don't ask me how I know, just accept my statement as fact, 'cause I told ya to).

I saw a few eps and didn't get into it. I thought it was okay but not worth buying more than one volume.

That doesn't entirely make any sense though. The only REAL Squaresoft induced part of the show is the openening sequence of the 1, 2, 3 and the first half of 4. Nobuo is seen in the music credits. However, after that, he no longer is seen. Also, Final Fantasy is based off of a book probably me nor anyone else here has read. (Check the FFVII opening credits to see what I mean.)

Based off of a book?! Wha?! And here I thought it was based off D&D, and then they threw in robots for good measure.

I have not seen this anime series but I probably will (maybe). This is the one where the guy's gun shoots bullets with summons in them, right? I think they got that off of FFT since one of the random things you get in the pub missions is an "ancient gun" and the description talks about how guns were once made that shot magic bullets and even summon monster bullets (and ironically you get some of the magic bullet using ones later on in the game, so they're not really ancient).

The various opinions were that it was a mildly entertaining anime with lots of FF references but was overall "not great."

As I said, check the opening credits for Final Fantasy VII (PSX Version, NOT Dirge.)

Guns don't summon anything in either of the FFT games as I recall. You need a summoner, just like everything else. (In FFT for the PSX, Magic Bullets were used, but not summon bullets - as you have noted.) And yes, if you've played all the way through FFT for the PSX, the Aletema missions get you down (Can't go back to Ivalice.)

*Agrees.*
