Most Disappointing Games That WEREN'T Made By Squaresoft

Cause we've pretty much established that everybody hates FFVIII.

Or I mean, everybody that counts.

Also cause you know some fool is gonna say Chrono Trigger and then I'll just have to be cross with them.

Anyway -

Burnout: Revenge. It's like what the fuck did I play Burnout 3 so hard for, so they can come out with fuckin' Burnout 3: Easy Mode?

Also, from the last thread -

Cutscene animation was rather poor, too. Farah's hands were chunks of fleshtone with a slit cut down the middle for a finger, and the Prince's hair looked like it was made of solid plates. I remember Sands of Time being much nicer. And it's kinda buggy in some places. I never finished the game because for some reason the Prince can't break through a wall like he could five minutes ago, and now he's stuck. I've also had occasions where his supposedly unbreakable sword randomly disappeared and refused to come back. All in all, the game was fun at the beginning, and a lot of the puzzles and time control tricks are great, and the Dark Prince was fun to control, but it was just missing something. Sands of Time was just a much more enjoyable game, in my opinion.

I got the feeling after Sands of Time didn't sell like it should, Ubisoft must have been like "GG jackasses, have fun making two sequels on half the fuckin' budget we gave you for the first one."

Any game based off of a movie that was based off of a book lands in here by default, that and Gran Tourismo A-Spec.

I'm a bit let down by Eternal Darkness, actually. Sure, the insanity effects are very interesting, but by the time you're halfway through you have means to easily keep your sanity up. Which leaves you with gameplay that, while solid, isn't at the top of the creativity heap.

I dunno, "Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers" was pretty decent, in my opinion. Not the greatest game ever made, but I liked it. "Return of the King" was okay, and "The Third Age" kinda sucked, but "Two Towers" was fun.

I can't believe no one has said this. Fable. It was a good game, but it was nothing like the way it was said to be like.

Another dissapointing game was KoToR 2.

Lord the Rings 3rd Age was just an FFX ripoff..

FFX bored the crap outta me. I found it just way to easy to manipulate the combat system so I could never die.

I second Burnout: Revenge. They took the tried and tested formula of Insane Stunts = More Speed and made a game about driving into traffic! Ok it was technically brilliant, most likely the fastest racer ever made (until Burnout 5 of course), but they really did kill the series with that effort.

EDIT: Oh and I forgot the sheer blinginess of the thing! "Enter your name", you do and "You have aquired 5000 Burnout points!!!!"

For entering your fucking name! That and the music was pure liquid shit!

World of Warcraft. Everyone hyped it up to be the "OMFG W1NUZT GAEM EVAR". I played it and got bored in 10 minutes. Managed to get my character to level 10 and never logged in again.

I agree. It was oevrhyped and ended up being the same generic grindfest MMO as we're used to seeing, but with a godawful group of rich 10 year olds calling us homosexual people of color. Aside from the worst community in recent MMO history, it really isnt worth the fee (like all other fee based games) The only way to have a good time with it is to play on a private server, as to avoid jerks and fees.

I woudl liek to say -COUNTER STRIKE- ...

Yeah... it sucks... really... i played that, thinking that it woudl be nice to play a FPS online, with strategy and such... the thign almost ripped my soul out...

Then i played 'Return to Castle Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory', and thanks to that, i found out that people who like Counter Strike dont know good games...
