Hey! Black Mage's head may very well be a cannonball. I doubt the cannon has the mental capacity to reliably tell the difference.

Hmm... If Red Mage's shades had lenses at different angles, could he bounce the hypnovision at more than one person?

When you look at blackmages hat, it's all pointy and stuff, more like a missle than a cannon ball. Nowadays' those hootinany kids down at them military weapon design bases make missle smart, like guided missles. But I don't think they have guided missles in the land of Final Fantasy 1, and besides what the hell would a missle be doing in an old cannon?

But, either way you can't really launch a missile out of a cannon anyway.

I think Black Black mage is going to have a safe landing, unlike everyone else who thinks he'll have a horrible landing, such as on nails and such. I think he'll land just fine, its just when RM, Theif and Fighter come crashing down on him is when it'll go horrible.

Shooting missiles from canons is, essentially, what tanks do. Just very advanced cannons that aren't really very much like true artillery. But my point is the principle is the same.

Yes, very true!

In the case of tests involving living subjects, the Mythbusters usually substitute ballistics gel, or a dead pig. Not a cannonball... Black Mage, you poor sucker.

Wow. That would be the strangest crossover. Who'd manage to hurt themself first? Fightar or Adam Savage?

The only slight benefit is to find out is whether the cannon is instantly fatal. So unless RM slipped BM a two-way mirror while the comic wasn't looking, I think effectively, all the LWs have done is find a way to rid themselves of a certain teammate.
