Recommend any good RPGs for Christmas?

Now, recently my friend lent me his copy of KoTOR, and I liked it lots. I have already asked for KoTOR 2, but since there has been trouble finding it, I have been looking for an alternative. And not only that, but I'm running out of ideas for good games to get for Christmas.

So, I pose a question. Are there any good RPG games out there for PC or PS2 that you could recommend? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

They are kind of hard to find, but I highly recomend any of the Shin Megami Tensei titles that have released on PS2. You have SMT3 Nocturne, Digital Devil Saga 1 and 2, and then Devil Summoner Kuzunoa Raido. Persona 3 is also a good bet.

Guitar Hero/Guitar Hero 2. It's LIKE an RPG. You play the role of a guitarist in a game. I mean, that's RPG-y, right?

Also, FFXII. The Lunar games if you can find them. Pretty much any Suikoden. DQVIII if you don't have it, Atelier Iris: Eternal Mana (you'll probably have to order it online, but it shouldn't be E-Bay only yet), I know Lego Star Wars doesn't count as RPG--but still, play it... Wild Arms 2 and 3, um... the FMA games are actually really good for a game based on a television show... and that's all I can think of off the top of my head. I'm not much of a computer gamer, so I've got no newish computer RPGs to list off.

I see that I have met a fellow Suikoden fan ^_^ I agree with you there, you cant go wrong with any entrys in that series, but unfortunaty the ps1 entries are expensive now.

Really, this is all you need for christmas. It will easily suck a hundred hours out of your life if you are lucky.

Disagea 1/2(good luck finding them), Valkyrie Profile 1(good luck finding this one too)/2, and Jade Empire (it is also made by Bioware and I heard that they are soon going to release it on PC).

Oblivion, if your computer is so badass that it bangs your sister, and smokes in the house, because it doesn't play by anyone else's rules, man. But other than that, yeah, stick with the stuff other people said.

There's an actual game for that actually for the PS2, but the flicker is off the charts, so I doubt you want it (About the guitar thing. The ending word is Fantasia or something.)

==========================

I recommend: Legend of Legaia (PSX), Legaia 2, Final Fantasy VII (PSX), Final Fantasy X (Not X-2), Final Fantasy XII, Tales of Destiny (PSX), Tales of Phantasia (GBA), Final Fantasy Anthology (PSX), Final Fantasy Chronicles (PSX), Final Fantasy Origins (PSX), [dot]HACK series (Including G.U)*, Radiata Stories, Star Ocean: The Second Story (PSX), Star Ocean: Till The End Of Time, Zone Of The Enders (PS2), Zone Of The Enders: 2nd Runner**, Kingdom Hearts Series***

*A few things on this one: Start the series at [dot]HACK// Infection (Vol.1) then make your way to VOl.4, THEN take on G.U or fragment. Also, the same person who makes the music for the [dot]HACK series also makes the music for "Tail Concerto." And if you played the first or second dotHACK game, you should have seen a web banner for it on the news section. Tail Concerto isn't an RPG, but it's an anime adventure game for the PSX, has some pretty good stuff in there too. However, there is no Tail Concerto 2 to my knowledge in the states or in english ftm.

**Start ZoE for the PS2 then go to 2nd Runner. The first one may be short, but at least it has a VS mode when you complete the game.

***Kingdom Hearts should be played in order: KH, KH:CoM and finally KH2. Although you can go from KH to KH2 directly, it's just you won't know where the note "Thank Namine" came from.

Stay the hell away from the original .hack games unless you're a big .hack fan or something. Seriously. Skip right to G.U. Also Fragment was never released in America and is an online game so that's a no. I recommend Tales of Legendia and Tales of the Abyss. If you like Megaman then Megaman X Command Mission is a decent game.

Also I don't know why people are recommending the ZOE series. As good as it is it's a action game and not an RPG.

There's also the Megaman Legends Series (MML2 was only for the PSX.)
