They need to make a .Hack MMO
They just need to stop making normal RPGs and finally just create an MMORPG for the series. That way, when a new story line comes out, they can just update the game or add an expansion. I just think it would work better than a bunch of stand alone games. Plus, you would actually be able to group with real people and go dungeon crawling.

Actually I think there already is one in Japan going by .hack//FRAGMENT. It hasnt seen state side release but I believe it is an actual MMO.

Oh, well thats awesome. I'm off to google it. Hopes to a swift stateside release once they work out the bugs.
edit: I just checked it out on IGN and it is for the PS2. That means that i have to get a network adapter:( . it will have online and offline gameplay. Online, you go to a lobby and form a party with two other people, then go on adventures with them. Offline is the same game, except that instead of real people, you travel with computer players. The computer characters will be taken from all of the previous games, shows, and manga. |
i would love that , would play it all the time :)

Unfortunately since it's free the community would probably ruin it. Also it's Japan only. Also from what I hear it has the same flaws as the original offline .hack games had.
But still, a MMO based on the .hack//GU games would rock. |
That it would, though I have no idea what class I would choose. Adept Rouge would appeal to me I think.
|
Adept Rouge eh? is that the master of putting on makeup? j/k
i'd prolly go for a wave amster |
Its actually a bit more complex. From what I heard the game comes with 2 discs; a ps2 disc and a pc disc. You can play single player on the ps2 and transmit your data to your pc and go online with that.

Yay, i wouldn't have to waste my money on a PS2 router.
I would probably be a twin blade. |
I think it kind of defeats part of the point of the game - it's a somewhat layered story, and making it an actual MMO kind of nullifies that.
Just so long as it wasn't directly tied to the actual story of .hack, and it was just 'The world' for real, I guess it could be fun. |
