Battle for the title of Ultimate Gunslinger

Vash the Stampede vs. Roland Deschain of Dark Tower fame (Stephen King)

Personaly, I think that they are pretty much equaly skilled, and they would probably battle for hours on end. If Vash used his Angel Arm, it would be all over, but because Vash refuses to kill, I doubt he would. Roland, however will kill anyone in his path to the tower, so if Vash stood in his way, he would kill him, but it's still arguable if he actualy would. I really think this one would be a draw, but what do you all think.

Vash is an overrated little pansy boy who constantly cries over a hippie girl that died 120 years prior. I do not know who this Roland fellow is, but he evidently doesn't have the emotional or mental limitations that Vash has placed on himself; therefore Roland wins.

First off-- according to the series... Vash's angel arm wouldn't kill anyone. (thats what knive's gun does)
Secondly... I dont know who this roland guy is either... but Vash is an immortal inhuman being who has reflexes and skill grander than any living human. So that should even the score for his unwillingness to kill. remember, he is more than willing to maim.

Actually, Vash is not an immortal human being. He's a tree in human form. :/
And a tree can be killed. Therefore, Vash could be killed it's just that no one has managed to pull that off.

touche... i meant immortal as in never aging. Not unkillable.
My mistake.

Roland's a bit overrated. The reason he's so hyped is because he's the last gunslinger in his reality. Sure, he's got skills, but he's nowhere near Vash.

Well, didn't Vash see at the end of the series that it's okay to kill or harm or whatever in self defense? Besides, you don't have to kill someone to beat them. He done messed Knives up good. Also, he can shoot so fast six shots sound like one, and basically won a quick draw tournament hung over.

No, Vash never agreed to killing at all. He was forced to kill Legato (Though Legato wanted it) to save the two girls. Vash didn't agree with what he did though.

Outbounder 02-02-2004 05:29 PM

Well, he made his peace with it at any rate.

What the? Vash is a plant as in nuclear power, not as in Sequoia giganteum. Think less dryad than literal deus ex machina. :)
