This looks rather interesting, all things considered. I'm very curious how they're going to portray ol' Silver.

Isn't the silver surfer a good guy?

Not originally. He was originally a servant of Galactus. The big planet eating jack ass. He eventually broke free of Galactus's control, I THINK with the help of the Fantastic Four, and became a good guy--however I'm not a big comic buff, so I could be entirely wrong. I suggest getting someone who knows what the fuck they're talking about all up in here.

That's more or less what I've always thought happened. He was Galactus' Herald. I don't know if he was at the time Galactus came to earth, but at some point he disavowed his position but got to keep his power cosmic. It had something to do with the fact that Galactus ate Silver Surfer's homeworld.

This movie looks awsome, although I figured marvel would give the Surfer his own movie.

EDIT: Surfer saved his homeworld by becoming Galactus' Herald. Wiki knows all.

So, will Galactus make an appearance in the movie? Will there be attempted planet-eating? Will Jessica Alba's butt be used in the marketing campaign?

yes, with the acting as bad as it is, all sex appeal is needed dearly. lol

I wonder if they'll go into the whole deal about Silver spending a good deal of time with Ben Grim's girlfriend, who can tell theres something very different about silver what with her being blind and all, and ol' Grimmy getting insanely jealous over it.

I really hope they don't make silver all evil and badass, yeah he has a ton of power at his disposal but he's more neutral than anything else until his association with the Fantastic Four causes him to start regaining, or reforming, his lost humanity.

Visually, Surfer looks neutral - Uncaring, but driven and powerful. So I doubt there will be much in the way of banter or 'I am teh EV1L!1!' speeches.

And yeah... Benny's blind gf... a romance seems like it would confuse the storyline of the movie, unless they resolve Surfer's 'loyalty to galactus' issue really fast. :/

If they bring in Galactus won't that draw in Thanos and then the whole world in crisis thing? I think this one might be a bad (worse) move seeing as how every hero comes out of the woodwork when Galactus comes to town.
