video game theft
i have a few games i dont want, but was planning to sell
a kid i know from church came to my house yesterday and he had just gotten a PS2, so i gave him one of the games (smugglers run) it was just a cheap game, because he wasnt really that close of a freind on his way out he swiped another game, GTA3 tf? i give him a game and that isnt enough so he steals another? just because i dont want it means i dont want to trade it in for something else! thats like somebody not liking their car, and you STEALING IT! they could have traded it in for a different car this is the third time something like this has happened to me and im sure it has happened to many of you even at the risk of looking rude, before anybody but one of your best freinds leaves your house count your games and check in the cases i have a lot of cames, so people assume i am rich (which i am not) and immediately determine that they are entitled to a cut of the action (read: they have justification to steal my stuff because they think i have lots of dough) and a real good warning sign that somebody may have stolen something is if they are eager to leave, like they are having fun, but when their parents come to pick them up they run to the door and leave quickly also, if you are gonna have somebody over who you are not VERY close too than take the disks out of the cases and put them in a secure location, like a small lockbox near your console/computer it wont look rude, you will just look paranoid about losing a game dont be afraid of confronting them if you are sure they have stolen a game! and if its 20 degrees farenheight outside and they have their jacket under their arm when they leave there is probably something wrapped up in it like that assmonger who stole my game last night  [edit] if murder was legal there would be about 120 less people in this world |
Oh, way more than 120, my friend.
I can see what you're saying, and your concern is much appreciated on my end, but maybe those precautions are a little much, hm? I mean, I'm all for protecting my goods and such, but to lock it up? That seems a little too far. But perhaps you should take your own advice and confront the guy who stole your game? |
I feel the pain
Oh the many times this has happened to me. Usualy it just ends in me having to steal it back. Fight thevery with thevery and such. Also, I would recomend giving this "friend" another "gift" to go with Smuggler's Run. It's called a swift kick in the balls. The cause of and solution to all of lifes problems.
(at risk of sounding slightly hypocritical) Peace D-san |
i did [confront him], and you wanna know what his reply was?
"i took it i thought u wouldnt mind" if i could drive i would be at his house 5 minutes ago =[ i will call tommorrow afternoon and talk to his mother he had actually asked me to have it last night, but i said NO. but when i talk to his mother he is gonna be up shits creek without a paddle [edit] if he was the same age or older than me i would beat him up, but he is younger |
Tell you what - dont let the motherfucker steal the game. Solves your problem really easy.
|
Luckily, my friends won't even steal a five I leave in an obvious place (I've actually tried this, left some money in obvious places, see if it's still there when they are leaving). So they always ask when they want to borrow a game. Usually I give it to them to, so it works out...

I tell you what, you gotta be careful when you move too. I must've been about 10, we moved from Chicago to New York State, and the mofo movers stole my copy of Super Mario Allstars and Super Mario World! I told my parents about it, cuz I was afraid of them, and they didn't believe me. *angry mumble* I never got to beat the Lost Levels or finish Star Road either.
|
Are you sure they stole them, and you didn't just lose them?
|
Yeah, are you sure? Cuz i think I lost like 20 PSX games cuz movers stole them... and like, 3 years later, when I have an XBOX and Game cube I find them in a board game box. The movers were nice enough to place them in a case so they wouldnt break.
Were really dusty, tho :P |
