Well... manga confuses me anyways... It did take me a few tries to fully understand what I was looking at, but as I said all manga does that to me. I am a bit confused about the three other people who are.. choking? What's wrong with them? Other than that I think it's coming along pretty good.;)

Do we have any pictures or sketches of what we want the cat-demons to look like? (I can't seem to find the link to the website) Or should I just try to come up with something on my own? (I'm not that great at designing non-human-like things...)

I had some ideas for the cat demons' design I put in the Introduction part I sent to Dragonglove. Just it's backside though.

My computer's been acting up, so I just wanted to say that incase I got any e-mails from anyone on this board lately. It's kinda funny how all the artists on this project have been cursed with so many technology problems...

Thankies for the cat demon picture. ^^ If anyone has any other sketches (like, from the front) that would help too, but I think I should be able to handle it. ^^

Us poor artists always have technilogical problems. ^^ heh. We know how to work a pencil and paper, but not computers... (not true, actually. I am fairly comfortable in my knowledge of computers.)

DG approved this design several weeks (months?) ago as what he was thinking of when he imagined the cat-demons.

Just replace her top and shorts-thingy with, like, a skirt and something more modest, ne? :blush: ._.

I'm going to have to start (for lack of a better term :p ) "bustin' heads" if I don't get a bigger response here. I've posted a couple of questions that nobody has replied about. Teamwork begins with communication, people (love that leadership class I'm taking ;)). So here we go with a backed up list of ideas and thoughts that I need some comments on, whether you play a big or small part in this project. Included at the end of this post are some things I ought (sp?) to have commented on but haven't.

"Prelude"... Thank you Sado. Anyone else have a comment or suggestion on it?

"Wings of Destiny"... Should we keep or change the name? I like the "wings" in the title, but I don't know what we should change it to. Just start randomly throwing out ideas.

"Logos"... Anyone who is good with photoshop and the like can try making any banners or logos to put on the web site. I was also wanting to put something on each comic page. I'm not good at this sorta thing so I need your help.

"Drawing Process"... We still haven't finalized our current way of doing things. Would '1 artist per comic' work better. That way, I could flesh out scripts faster so that before one comic was finished, we'd be working on the one after that.

Sadly, I didn't realize it until now, but I don't know either. I would love to go back to the peppy, upbeat days of fleshing out story and characters, but I also really want to get this first episode finished and see what the response is. I've tried to give everyone a job title, and yours is "secretary" Sado, but I don't know what you can do at this moment.

I'm not even doing much at this point. The only two things going on right now are purchasing quality webspace and drawing "Orphan". Sometimes I'm looked at like a boss, the "Leader" if you will, but I would rather be looked at as a "Partner". That being said, don't wait for me to tell you to do something, just do it. And if you think I should do something, tell me to do so. Anything that anyone thinks that can better the project, let it be known!!

And finally, the cat-demon. Use your own judgement. Either of the two designs are fine, but I want a visably "bad-assier" look to the last one.

Finally again, I think the project is going a little slower than it should. I realize we all have lives (well maybe not me) and we shouldn't take away from that, but we need to pick up the pace just a little.

One last thing (I swear), am I being a hard-ass? Be truthful, please.

Alright, I've got the outline of the first page done, I just need to make sure what I have is alright, then re-do it on good paper.

My "sloppy copy" is too sloppy for anyone other than myself to understand, so I made a lame MSPaint version, just with text explaining what's going on, and little grey circles signifying somebody's head or another significant part of the panel... I hope you understand it. ^^;;

Tell me if you want any changes, and I'll see what I can do. I'm still having major problems with the cat demon though... I keep making it look a little too cute...

(I was so mad, I went to draw it on good paper, but we had no stinking computer paper!! Grr... I'll have to make a trip to wal mart.)

Okay, I'm REALLY confused about that last comic page. I didn't understand very much of what happened at all.

"Dark Wings" reminds me of DarkWind Duck, so it's hard to get off that idea.. instead of Tychael I see the duck... Wings Under Darkness I think is a little better. We can still do better I think... I haven't looked at the titles and thought "Yeah!! That's PERFECT!!" yet. I've been thinking on it... Is there anything we could use to go off Tychael's search for Inu? Like some shows are named after what the whole thing is about like um... "Speed" or.... umm... "Blood Work". Maybe there's a cool way of saying "searching for something"? Trailing... hunting... I don't know.

And if you weren't being hard-nosed DG, nothing would get done.;) I think you are doing just fine. Don't worry about that.

1 artist per page sounds good to me, but I'm still not sure how well it would work. Either way, I think you should just work on the scripts as you go, and as the pages get drawn, you can check back to make sure it's what you want. That way if something in the future scripts doesn't make sense, or isn't going the way you want, you have time to change it without an artist waiting for you.

Ok, here are a few names that Monch and I came up with:

Wings of Darkness: decided to switch "under" with "of". www.wingsofdarkness.com is available.

Shadow(s) of Destiny: www.shadowofdestiny.com is unowned, but www.shadowsofdestiny.com is.

DemonShadow: a little vague but sounds cool. It's unowned.

Dragoncast: My personal favorite. It's also unowned.

By unowned, I mean there is no website named that. The name may however be copywrited. If anyone comes up with any other names, let us know. Post your opinion soon, I want to get our website purchased quickly.

I personally think that we should go with a free website for now. It's silly to buy a website when you can make a good one for free.

Okay, now DemonShadow sounds REALLY good to me. You can take it as Tychael is Inu's "shadow" as Tychael is hunting down Inu. That's the one I vote for!

Actually, there are a lot of things that we can do with a paid website. The main reason is to get rid of the advertisements. But also, it allows for things such as php scripting and flash, which monch says he's going to use to organize our episodes. Thirdly, it gives people a nice easy name to remember us by. And last, you're not paying for it, don't complain. ;)

Besides the website itself, this is what we are calling the entire project so cast your vote. Democracy 0wnz!

Well, after tallying all the votes, we have a three way tie between Shadow of Destiny, Wings of Darkness, and Dragoncast. I hate to do this, but we're going to go with Dragoncast, for many reasons:

Shadow of Destiny is a game already: check it out
Many people outside of the project find Dragoncast to be the best.
Dragoncast sounds the least "generic".
Most of you don't think it matters much.

I'll get started on the actual scripting of episode two tonight. Expect much more comedy in this one. Along with the first time the readers realize that Tychael's a half-dragon. I'll tell you what, I'll give you all a basic rundown, and then anybody can start scripting even small sections of the episode. It'll take pressure off of me and ensure we get the best stuff written. Here it goes:

Tychael and Raine walk along, not far from the village they just left. Raine begins asking questions, such as "Where are we going?" "What's this crystal thing?" She's not being annoying or dumb, merely inquisitive. However, Tychael is used to silence in his travels so he gets annoyed quickly. Arguments ensue, but are interupted by a nearly dead man crawling up to them. He mumbles something about an angel (speaking about Raine) and dies at their feet. They follow a blood trail to a cave (or other lair is fine) to meet a demon with hostages. This demon, however, has heard of Tychael from somewhere.

Well that ought to be enough to hold people over until I get more out there. The problem is, I can't think of a good demon to put in the position that would have a reason to know Tychael. Well, get to work. Anything that you can think of to help out would be... helpful. :)

Tychael's half-brother Israfel, who betrayed his village to whichever demon destroyed it?

Monch is right, we want to parallel Inuyasha, not copy it. I like the name though. Israfel, sounds like a kick-ass elemental or something.
Sometimes I forget that I haven't even told my closest associates who actually destroyed Tychael's village. I consider it my ace in the whole.

Israfel - Angel of song and dance, AKA the twin angel from EVA.

Another demon might be Hyakuma, though I don't know whether that's a good idea.

Did the demon hear about Tychael's village? Maybe he thinks Tychael is out for revenge. (I'm going off pure memory here, I don't remember much of the details.) But then again, the demon probably wasn't involved in the destruction of the village. Did he know someone who was? *shrugs*

I've decided on a mole demon. I'll leave it up to Dante to come up with a name that fits.

CelesJessa hasn't had much time to work Orphan, or so she says. I understand since I haven't had much time to work on the second episode. But to anyone with free time who wants to work on something here's a list of jobs that can help:

Still shots - Artists can make still shots of any characters. Turnarounds and emotions would make helpful references as well as add to "extras" on our website.

Logo's - We still need people making banners and logos for us. Even if it's just a small sketch on paper, it helps. Post anything you have!

Donate - That's right, I'm broke. If I didn't have a car in the shop, I could buy the domain and service, but not now. I can still pay for most of it, but it will take me at least another month by myself. BTW, I don't actually expect anyone to pay money, but if someone did, it would really help out until we generated some income of our own.

I've been doubting myself about Tychael's choice of weaponry. I'm wondering if a spear is cool enough. Do you think we should go with a different weapon?

I'm trying to come up with things that other people can do. I don't want people waiting on me or CelesJessa. Remeber, any scripting you want to do is great. Come up with stuff on your own and don't be afraid to post it.

Male Demon - What kind of name are you looking for?

Ombato Hammerhorn - Rhino Demon. Fairly obvious.

Kusatte Iru - Corruption Demon. Corrupts minds and bodies, exists as a diesease rather than as a physcial being of any sort. Infectiousness is left to dragonglove to detail.

I like them. And that's 'Mole' demon, not 'male' demon. I somehow see an evil postman.

I chose you Dante because you can take the english "mammal with spikes" and make it "Orgonoroth Sugetorakor"... or something to that effect. He's dead by the end of the episode so don't let it trouble you too much.

The man who calls himself Raging Dragon Samuri is a friend of mine who I finally got interested in the project. I haven't quite figured out what he can add to the project, but he comes up with some great characters in our D&D sessions and he's a decent artist.

Now what is everyone else doing? Even if you don't have anything to show the group, tell us "I am working on _____". It would help me to know what everyone else is working on. And I think it would also give us an idea of what to look forward to. Let us know what's up and a rough estimate of when it will be completed. Just like my opening sentence.

I'm working on The first page... because I'm a slow loser who gets artist's block. woot... I WAS going to finish it today (as well as I could) but I think I left the original sketch for it at school. (I needed the notebook for school.... gr.)

And I might be able to take care of the unability to draw cat creatures. I was looking through this guy's sketch book in my band class and he's great at them, so I think if I can be confident enough, I'll ask him for some help... but he's really protective about his art... so hopefully he'll help me. So wish me good luck! ^^ heh.

Do you want it to be all shaded, or is it alright not being as shaded as Macharticle's pages?

EDIT: oh yeah, and thanks for the earlier compliment on the avatar. ^^

I want some shading (obviously), but not as much as macharticle usually does. Perhaps it's just my opinion but I think a lot of shading can detract from the picture. Now if it's in color (like his 8-bit drawings) then that shading looks awesome, but not if it's just pencil. So I guess a light shading would be best.

If the guy you ask doesn't want to help, I'll see what RDS (Raging Dragon Samuri) can do.

Hey Monch, despite good intentions, we don't bump on this forum. Besides, I was just about to post my status report.

I suck at writing. No really, I am bad at this. I'll keep working at it, I've attached part of the episode, but it needs severe editing.

I had sort of a brainstorming session from Raging Dragon Samuri. He showed me just how many holes there are in the plot. I'll be looking at my old notes and coming up with more clear-cut personalities for the two characters. Unfortunately I may not be able to do this until Sunday. The only free day I have is today, but I have a research paper due Thursday. I'll see what I can do.

As for RDS himself, he'll be our third artist from now on. He actually came up with a pretty good character. He was created by Juu Haysomethingrather, to be a minion/slave. What niether of them know is that he is actually stronger than Juu, and is completely capable of Juu if he wanted to. He should be working on a name a sketch for him soon. Both Juu and his character are going to be introduced near the end of episode 3.

Any writer who wants to edit what I have so far, or who has questions about what's going on, let me know. Despite my efforts, I can't seem to think of a good quote.

Oh yeah. Speaking of your friend. You said he might be able to help me with the demon cat drawings if I couldn't get help from the other person I know. Well, I just dont' have ANY time to talk to this person. The only time I see him now is from across the room during 6th period, so if your friend could help he out, it would be appreciated.

Hey guys its me the rez dude anyways i havent been able to talk to dragon glove for some time. Well my time in school (prison) has done me well to get new pics of Dragon people that my good friends have drawn me. Me im no artist but dispite my lack of good grammer i do have good writing skills to bring but it I dont think anybody needs a writer. I have a few of my drawings i did last week. i know inuyasha doesn't come in until later, but i had time on my hands. i am unable to post the drawings at this point in time because they are too large. i need to find a way to make them smaller to be able to get them on here.

As for the cat demons, they are coming along. Right now i have one small sketch done and am working on more.

Dragonglove told me what he wanted them to look like, and i have made some alterations. Just some.

I will post when i have more done.

P.S. 7 days without pizza makes one weak.

I have come to new conclusion: I suck at drawing. One hours work and I still can't get the pose I want done right. Anyway, with Zephir's help, I updated the script a bit. There's no longer that gap between the first line and the rest of the script, but it's still at least a third of the way through the episode. I've attached the new one.

Also, Zeph sent me his logo design. It looks good but needs a little editing. I'll see what I can do tommorow morning.

I like how the episode's developing so far, Dragonglove. Only one thing seems to stick out for me, and that's Raine's outburst after Tychael offers her to the mole demon. It just sounds too 'worldly.' "...like some trophy?!" I don't know yet how exactly you're characterizing her, but it seems she's been following the 'an angel not of this earth' template, rather than 'spunky maiden.'

Well I'd prefer to avoid such templates entirely, as much as possible anyway. The problem with templates is it restricts what you can do with a character and what kind of emotions they can experience.

I don't think I've ever seen a fictional girl that didn't follow a template. Or any fictional char for that matter. Even Tychael's got that 'emotional badass' thing going for him. Anime/manga seems to be full of just a bunch of types. I've yet to see any role that wasn't repeated. Raine's indignation's fine, but I wasn't expecting her to act upon it. The line also somehow seems to imply that she does indeed belong to him in some way.

I'm working on loads of changes including the change of Tychael's "Weapon of Choice" (title of ep 2 btw). It is now a black mini-claymore of sorts. I have an attached image of something a little like it. I encourage artists to mess around and see if you can come up with something interesting off it. I want the weapon to be associated with either the element of ice or shadow. I was also thinking about making it more of a weapon of pure energy, that have no solid parts. I keep seeing these scenes where Tychael isn't directly holding his weapon although he is able to will it to do some kick-ass spins and what not. I don't what can you guys come up with.

I'm also reworking some minor parts of ep 1 while more clearly defining the personalities of our characters. Don't worry, it's nothing CelesJessa has to worry about yet.

I'm also trying to define a new character a little like Lucca from Chrono Trigger. It's one of the last things on my mind, but I think it will work better than the valkyrie idea I had earlier.

I'm working on a opening a paypal account for donation purposes. But I can't decide if we should use a business account or a personal account. With a personal account we could recieve donations only if someone has a paypal account. With a business account we can also recieve money from Credit Cards, but then they charge us for every donation we recieve. What do you guys think?

RDS has sent me his original character. He's a villain, but won't come in till at least ep 3. Sorry it's such a large picture, I didn't want to ruin the detail during resize.
