Youth shattering cartoons
 

I loved the Real Ghostbusters cartoon. Naturally, my little excited self was pumped when I saw they were making a new ghostbusters cartoon. I flipped on the TV and before me was Extreme Ghostbusters. What a pile of crap. They had the hip hispanic guy, the goth, the black guy, and the guy in the wheelchair (every episode: "Oh nos! The ghost WENT UP THE STAIRS!) and was a bland piece of PC garbage worse then Captain Planet.

Before you people discovered anime, did you have cartoon memories like this? Surely some of you watched the ninja turtles or GI Joe?

I once watched Smurfs. I almost swore off all animation forever because of that.

Oh, I watched ALL of them. I watched the GI Joe, Smurfs, Snorks(or whatever, the underwater Smurfs), TMNT, Super Mario Brothers Super Show, Ghostbusters, X-Men, Spider-Man. I can't think of more off the top of my head, but you name it and I probably watched it.

Actually, I can think of Highlander(animated series), Batman, and Robotech(which was a lot like anime, but not.) too.

I liked the old TMNT, X-Men, and Spiderman.

I remember back when I was young, I'd spend hours in front of the TV watching Ninja Turtles, Transformers, Ghost Busters and the old X-men cartoon.
(Dunna nunna NA na na. Dunna nunna Na na na. Damn, that song was catchy.) So now it's funny to see them bringing back all my favorite old cartoon shows and THOUROUGHLY SCREWING THEM UP. I still haven't seen the new ninja turtles yet. Does it suck? Is Krang in it? Who did they make black for no reason?(I know they did it to somebody.)

Dude, good memories or bad? I remember my favorite show was Super Mario Bros. 3, the show. It was blatant commercialism, but I was a kid, It hit my interests, and I wasn't such a good judge of dialogue when I was a little kid. I also liked Captain N, and The super mario bros. super show, and the legend of zelda cartoon. All that stuff made me a dedicated Nintendo customer until a little after the fallout of the N64. I still love mario.

Of course, I remember GI Joe when it went bad, right when the whole "Now you know, and knowing is half the battle," stuff came about. Another bad cartoon was the Fox version of Sonic the Hedgehog (Not the CBS version, that one was awesome). All I remember about it was something about chili-dogs...

lol I remember the Highlander cartoon.

Sadly, the new TMNT cartoon does not have Krang.

No main character is black for no reason (Gasp), though there has been one black guardian guy to the brain aliens...

I think the new TMNT is good, and it's supposed to follow the comic of TMNT...

Who is Krang though?

Krang is shocked you do not know who he is.
