Ender's Game live action cast

Okay, Anyone who has read Ender's Game and any of its sequels knows they'ed make great movies. Bit what's you're dream cast?

Ender 02-02-2004 07:25 PM

hmmm... i dunno... but shouldn't they have a cast picked out now? there have been rumors for like a year...I used to have a site about it if u want me to find it again...

Drooling Iguana 02-02-2004 07:39 PM

Anyone who we'd know about would already be too old by the time the movie's made, so it'd have to be a cast of unknowns.

Back in the day Orson Scott Card wanted Jake "Whoopee!" Lloyd for Ender.

Edited to add, but what the hell is this doing in Discussion? Moving.

I'm afraid that even though I love the books, that they would make not so good movies. First of all, the main character has to believeably act like a super intelligent adult while still being a kid. I think that this would be an incredibly difficult part to play and I have serious doubts whether it could be done well. Maybe the kid from the sixth sense (can't remember his name) could pull it off. I still think he looks young enough for the role. But you could definitely not get a Culkinesque (home alone series) kid to play the role. It would be horrible to see such a great book wasted on such a bad movie.

In the end, I would just as soon the movie not be made, and since I've heard this rumor for several years, it doesn't seem like it will be anyway.

I think i remember reading on the official site that they made a deal for it already. there was supposed to be games coming out for it too. Wouldn't it rule to play in the battleroom with two whole armys? but then again, i think it would lag like crazy...

Okay here's an alternative to live-action: Anime.

I have mixed feelings about the Ender's Game series being made into a movie. Unfortunately i can never remember any actor names so I’ll just write down some important parts.

Ender - Creepy smart person who looks like or is a little kid.
Peter - Is required, need someone who can do a good psycho.
Valentine - Very important later on
Ender's Father - Not sure how important this part is but if this extends into Bean's story then it becomes major.
Ender's Mother - Not sure how important this part is but if this extends into Bean's story then it becomes major.
Graff - Someone who looks military.
Petra - Only needed for the first book unless it goes into bean's story.
Bean - Only needed for the first book unless it goes into bean's story. Someone that looks greek and is short.
Mazer Rackham - Someone old. Not sure on this though.
Bonzo - not sure he's important enough.
Alai - Need middle east actor. Only needed for the first book unless it goes into bean's story.
Dink - Part of the final team.
Crazy Tom - Part of the final team.
Shen - Part of the final team.
Hot Soup - Part of the final team.
Fly Molo - Part of the final team.
Carn Carby - Part of the final team.

Those are the fairly important parts to the first book in the Ender series, Ender's Game.

Edit - I can list the parts for the other books too. One thing though, we should get the woman who did the voice of Cortana do the voice of Jane.

With the way the book is set up, they'll probably need to have multiple actors for Ender. In the beginning of the book he's like 7, as a battleroom commander he's 10, and he's 12 by the time he defeats the buggers. This doesn't even take into consideration the adult Ender who finds the hive queen at the end.

Hobo2323 02-03-2004 06:21 PM

Come to think of it, what about the voice of the hive queen? Hot soup also has a larger role in the other books as well. And how could you forget Achilles!
