Celes-Not all can cast spells...Affinity just means that it is their base element. Think of Chrono Cross, and the element system.

Yes, like my guy. He is affinity of Fire, but he can't cast any fire spells. He can however over power any of you phsycially.

Finally got a character up, based off of one I thought of a long time ago but never RPed. I now cleaned him up, fixed his required fields, and hes back.

Bio: Gladwin, who always goes by Zek, lead a decent life in the city. His parents were poor, so they had to manage as best as they could, but Zek was happy. Until a gang of thugs and thieves moved in when he was 14. They began to extort local businesses, and Zek's father owned one of those buisnesses. He refused to pay, so they torched his buisness, his home, and beat him so badly he was hospitalized for a month, as a lesson of what would happen to those that wouldn't pay. Zek snapped, and ran away from home, desperate for the power to deal with these scum. As he traveled and made a living on the streets, he robbed, blackmailed, and stole everything he needed, not caring about morality and only revenge. He eventually amassed a fearsome collection of black magic tomes, and while he dabbled in lightning and water, the burning passion and rage of fire always called him back. He studied a balance at first, but soon all he studied was fire, and only the balck portions of it, the spells that let him hurt and kill and burn. When he was 19, he returned to face the bandits, now armed with an impressive array of spells. He came bakc to find that his mother and father had died on the street, along with many of his friends who had resisted. He went to the gangs hideout, and unleashed his power. He saw untrained, but the raw ability and basic learning unleashed burning wrath on the gang of thugs and scum. He burned the enitre building they used as a hideout down, killing all that resisted his vengence. None survived.

He was amazed at his own powers, and decided if he could do this untrained, imagine the power with training. He immediatly signed up for a local magic school, the Taez Academy. He has been training hard now for a long time, and is one of the most promising fire mages ever seen, even if he has some issues with anger manegment, and what seems to be a thirst for power. He has taken every basic and advanced class, in the Combat Fire disciplines of course, and is on the verge of graduation, when he will begin his goal in life, to begin assembling magical artifacts (Not the Vera Stones specifically, any artifact), learn all he can about magic, and perhaps long forgotten spells and abilities, and try to become one of the most powerful mages ever...

What's up, yo! I thought I'd be done for the evening, but...well, I'm not.

It seems that everything has been cleared up soncerning my character, but for the record [Rundown Mode: ON]
1) I asked Celes before posting my profile (she practically wrote my bio herself!).
2) My guy is by no means uber-powerful, but he's no pushover, either. Also, Jason can be brash at times, but keeps a cool head more often than not.
3) The concept of 'spell breaking' was supposed to be an original idea. The higher the level the spell, the more concentration must be used to manipulate it, but really strong spells are near impossible.
4) Hack & Slash, baby. That's the name of Jason's game.
5) Ecurt told me about his idea before he posted it, and I've been brainstorming my character since, so you could say I was the first Fire adept...okay, maybe not. Bleh.
6) Yes, that is 'Marinara' as in the excellent Italian dipping sauce. Try it sometime, it's good :D [Rundown Mode: OFF]

Hopefully that clears up any controversy that still remains.

3) It's a WC3 unit... And Jad did it before (Badly thoug). Ecurt said you can't really do higher leveled spells at all (Or maybe he meant the uber-powerful ones)
4) You have a gaint sword... How much hacking and slashing can you do? A Zthingy is limited to mainly just vertical and horizontal swings...

btw my guy's staff has metal running through the grip and covering the ends, so he can charge it with electrical energy. Might as well change my profile to say, Specialty: Bo staff combat, combining martial and magical abilities

My character's not about to graduate... and he sucks at combat magic. SUCKS. He's also one of the two youngest though.

Of course... the fact that he's untrained, uses a sword, is fast, sucks at magic, AND is a 16 year old with an angsty past but a sunny disposition, states he should be able to kick all your asses with one hand tied behind his back, a leg chained down, and wearing a blindfold... Except maybe Ecurt's character. He's 16 too, and I think he had an angsty past. We'll have to see about his sunny disposition... although all that extra training really hurts him.

...I'm making fun of the general roleplay/anime/movie stereotypes, by the way.
