Beowulf nodded his assent. "I agree we need to go with them. And I also agree that there is a risk in Jade and Wolf becoming more powerful. But in Wolf's case, he has to be able to defeat the agents, or everything he lives for may be destroyed...followed by himself."

J2 gave him an odd look. Beowulf elaborated. "Something happend to him 5 years ago. He wouldn't want me to tell anyone what it was, so I won't. I'll just say that it ended up with him heartbroken, disenfranchised and on the run from his own government; not to mention a hatred of Mastermind rivaled only by Monk."

Steady hands scrape a knife sharpener over a black blade, filing it down to a clean razor's edge. Wraith's eyes stare past his hands, knife, and the floor, daydreaming about this and that...most of it all inconsequential. So deeply frozen in his trance is he that he jumps slightly when an alarm goes off, signaling that it's time for his allotted training session.

He sighs and pockets both the sharpener and knife, then stands with a grunt and walks out, locking his door behind him. His hands instinctly find their way into his pockets and his eyes glaze over again as he returns to daydreaming.

New chapter will be up tonight

Wraith stops in his tracks and looks around with his eyes, everything else stiff. He suspiciously looks around the walls and doors, and asks a passing stranger in a whisper, "...Hey...you hear that?"

"...What?"

"That chapter thing..."

"...No..."

"...Wierd..."

The other guy looks him over oddly and walks off, shaking his head, while Wraith goes back off down the hall, still looking around himself in a paranoid fashion.
