The Best and worst sidequest/minigame.

The title says it all.
One of my favorite minigames is blitzball.(FFX)

Is just me or did the card game in FF9 make no sense at all? Seriosly what the hell do those numbers mean!?! But that chocobo Hot/Cold game was awesome.

I don't think i've experienced any absolutly horrible sidequest, but I may just be repressing that memory or something. I'll get back to that one later.
Spiffy Has Spoken.

P.S. In over a 100 posts this is my 1st thread. Yay. *confetti*

Any sidequest you can't do without a guide is stupid. As are most FF mini games (blitzball anyone?).

I liked the card game in FF9... except I could never win. Damn those blocks! Just when I figure it out, you have to add blocks to the fucking playing field :(
BTW when you are doing a 'card battle' (IE when two arrows hit each other) the numbers are their HP. Hell if I know exactly how it works, but if your cards number is 0 before the other your card is his. :(

I also liked the Sub game in FF7, along with the Swordfight in the beginning of FF9. I cant think of any more, though...

I loved geting all the masks in Majoras mask.

I used to know, but I think this is it...

First number is the number you attack with. Second number... I forgot. If card is P, you attack other cards first number. If card is M, you attack second number. If card is X, you attack lowest number.

Edit - You only attack sides with arrows. If your card's arrow is pointing at another card and that card doesn not have an arrow pointing at your card, you automaticly take it over. If both cards are pointing at eachother, the rule above takes place and the higher number wins.

Getting all the masks in Majoras mask in my opinion got a little tedious after a while.

Yeah, I agree. I hated blitzball, but I loved the card game in FF9, though I still don't know how it works. I know that parts of the game give you hints on how it works, and I could have written them down, but I didn't care that much to work so hard.

What about the weird sidequest in FF9 with the cute animals that you gave ore to during random encounters? That was... strange.

I actually have to put my vote in Xenogears in both catagories.

The best game would be the card game started on the Thames. The card game...

FOR... THE MEN... OF THE SEA!! (Insert cannon noise here)

And the sidequest to have Emmy grow up is a great sidequest.

I liked blitzball, and in fac was completely unstopable from the very begining. Unfortunately, I accidentally let a player go about half-way through the game when I didn't mean to, and never managed to get a replacement. So that ended that for me.

My friends, siblings, and I made a pretty true-to-game live action Blitz ball to be played in a uniformly deep olympic size pool.(at least 6ft deep, deeper the better) It was hard, and included makeing a ball that was exactly the same weight as water so it never sank nor floated except when pushed. It was pretty damn fun, and we all made some cool signature moves, and often stole them.(Nobody ever managed to immitate my Chica Poquita Slammer Deluxe BLITZBALL EDITION)
