Best GBA games?

So, i now have a Nintendo DS. It's pretty cool. I got FF3, Mario Kart DS, and Megaman ZX. :)

My birthday is coming up soon, and i was thinking of buying some cheap used GBA games at gamestop. What do you think are some of the best GBA games out there and why?

Well, I would highly suggest "Advance Wars, Dual Strike" (kinda crappy story line, but the battles are amazingly fun), then there's "Trauma Center" (you're a docter. There's a crazy new virus made by terrorists infecting the populace. Go.) and finally "Pheonix Wright: Ace Attorney" (I haven't actually played this one, but it looks like fun and everybody/everything is telling me i'm "wright" :p ). There are many others, but those are what I'd aim for if I were you.

Note that all three of those are DS titles.

As for games that won't cost as much as a new title, Golden Sun. For the love of god, Golden Sun. And Golden Sun 2. Bloody hell those are awesomeness incarnate.

Other than that, I believe Final Fantasies 1 through 6 are now available on DS/GBA (You know better than I do that FF3 is DS, though); while chances are 5 and 6 are still on the pricey side, you should be able to snag 1&2 (Released together) and 4 pretty easily.

Also look into: Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, Advance Wars 1 and 2, the various Legend of Zelda games, and any game with Super Mario in the title.

Thanks for the DS recommendations, but i'm looking for GBA games.

Oh, right, hence the point of the title.... Sorry 'bout that.

As for GBA games, I enjoyed "Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance" a bit, and I'm in the middle of "The Legend of Zelda: A link to the past" which is loads of fun.

I second the Golden Sun suggestion, and add in Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow.

Get Astro Boy: Omega Factor. It's cheap and awesome. Basically it's a side scroller shoot/beat-em-up. The only complaint you may have is the story (basically you have to play the almost the same game twice to get the real ending). But it is a wonderful game along the same vein as Viewtiful Joe and Gunstar Heroes. Speaking of Gunstar Heroes, get Gunstar Super Heroes (or something like that) since it is a remake of the original (which is good). Finally, get Final Fantasy VI Advance when it comes out even if you have played it before since FF6 owns.

Well, I'm certainly not going to let it slide that FFTA has been mentioned, but not Fire Emblem.

Super Robot Wars Original Generation 1/2. I goth both for $60, and I love them. Think nFire Emblem with mechs, and a hilarious cast (possibly the best game cast ever really) plus a decent amount of replay, interesting story and sweet art. Seriously. Buy them. Now.

I second Gunstar Super Heroes, but I got the impression from playing it and reading about it that it was a sequel to Gunstar Heroes, not a remake. What I read of it made much of this point, as Treasure is not a company that usually makes sequels. But it is a fantastic game.

I third the Golden Sun games, particularly the first; plot-rich they ain't, but the djinn battle system, the graphics, and the dungeon puzzles are well worth it. Also, I found the Tales of Phantasia remake for the GBA to be quite enjoyable (first game I got for it, actually).

Sonic Advance 3 is also a decent way to kill a few hours, altho' it's possible my judgement of it may be a bit rose-colored on account of it's the first Sonic game I ever played; the only things I don't quite like are the FUCKING! Chao hunting and Cream, whose purpose in this game I cannot quite fathom.

The Super Mario games are also pretty good, altho' if you get Yoshi's Island, play it with the volume down >_< .
