tyr888 02-04-2004 02:58 PM

thats awesome. he stuck around for hella long...

reason though?

Meddros 02-04-2004 04:14 PM

MONEY! HE does it all for the money! Well that and the undieing praise we all give him on a day to day basis. Also the other benifits like being wisked away to some obscure part of the world (the world meaning the USA) and being forced to do those panel things he goes on about every time he gets back.
But I think deep down he really likes to do it.

kr0slave 02-04-2004 07:48 PM

who gives him money?!?!

isnt that illegal, to make money off copyrighted stuffs?

Lots of reasons. The short version: I finished writing my book, found I had a lot of free time, always wanted to learn more about Photoshop, and I had to make some comics for an independent study course in my senior year of college. Since I can't draw and I only needed characters to stand in as props so the reader would know which characters were talking and to have something for the panels to work around, I used old video game images. I put them online so I wouldn't have to e-mail them to my professor and so my friends could check it out. My project was done around Episode 011, but by then I was already getting nearly a thousand visitors a day, so I stuck with it.

Only most of my day, every day :P

Technically late January of 2001, but I didn't start to get noticed until Feb/March of that year.

Only if the copyright owners tell you it is. Besides, I make my money on advertising and T-shirts that use Scott Ramsoomair's art for which he is compensated. Square-Enix has been very nice about this and I hope to distribute some free T-shirts to the S-E execs at E3 this year :)

also, there is a link that kinda answers some of these. you'll find this on the
homepage, under 'F.A.Q.'

and because i enjoy pretending to be a nice guy all the time, i'll leave the
link here too.

by the way, i love those peanut butter cake things (Kandy Kakes) from TastyKake, and i
felt i had to share it.

they actually sell these on ebay! i've yet to see any sold, not in all of
january, but still! they are incredibly delicious, but... who goes on ebay
to find food?

Yeah... about that book... what's with the book? I remember a news post about a misplaced manuscript and editors something like a year ago... Is that project dead or what?

I think he means very nice as in "Not publicly recognizing it, but not suing my ass off either"...and the book is I think at another (more competent) editor...or maybe that was just people suggesting...I dunno, but the book idea sounds awesome...
