Update on my webcomic
ok I dont know how many of you even recall this, but I started working on a webcomic called Avarous. The story took place in a post apacolyptic Earth populated by gods, spirits, and ruled by demons. The ruler is the Emporer and his seven demon lords: lightning, shape-shifting, darkness, spiritual, elemental, dragon, and nature lords. Main character is a master theif specializing in the theft, repair, and usage of lost human technology.
And yes I am aware that is a crappy summary. But hey, since when have I every been good at that? Now for the update. I am currently working on concept art with someone and hope to get you some of it soon. Comic itself... well with college I doubt we can get consistant updates untill its over. So you wont see any of the actual comic untill then. This is just incase there are any of you that actually cared about whether or not this thing came out. |
Well, I eagerly look forward to this concept art. Could you give us a sneak peek?
I bet its prettier than the Prinnygumi group portrait.
well if you insist, I just hope the size is proper for the forum. Oh and this is just a fun little thing I did myself. Dont worry, I would never use my art on my comic.
This is not the art style that will be used in the comic, as it says. Just a teaser |
Hm... I wouldn't collaborate if I were you, you'll never be able to have a consistent schedule, well for drawn art anyway. Collaboration on sprites works (heck that's what I do), but actual art is too much work and far too time consuming, you've got a lot of stress ahead of you if you're going to be relying on an artist. Think of it like this, artist at marvel and dc miss deadlines and they get paid well, plus royalties, so how often do you think a artist will make deadlines for a webcomic? I hope this doesn't sound harsh but from my experience and nearly every writer/cartoonist I know collaborations unless contracts and large sums of money are involved simply don't work in the long run.
yup, I am well aware of that. But its either that or it doesn't exist and never will. As I said I would never use art as low quality as mine for this comic.
well, then you probably wont want mine, its about level with yours..
You should try sprites, they are fun to work with and this is a sprite webcomic forum after all.
Sprites dont work well for a serious webcomic. And alot of the things the characters do just cant be shown with sprites.
And LoJ, I think you might be confusing this thread with my other one. I am not looking for an artist at the moment |

Oh, really? Granted, Fortuna Saga is a rare exception, but it is entirely possible to do that. But, collaborations don't always result in horrible, horrible failure. There's Penny Arcade. The important thing is to treat it professionally, no matter what you go with. Humor is serious business. |
