We still managed to survive for a few years without the US accomplishing that much. As for the actual winners of the war, it's taught that we won up here. Personally, I don't think either side came out well enough to actually declare a winner. I do like the idea of discriminating against Quebec, though. However, to get back on topic, annexing us would never work. I can't be bothered to explain why, but suffice it to say the beaver and moose population would ensure our victory.

Anyway, we have moose (meese? mooses? moosi? what's the plural?) too. And our hunters are allowed to have assault weapons. All I have to say is just one word, and they will go all Rambo over your multiple-moose-word and your beavers.
