I've also been implying more DnD things in my life, like mentioning "reflex saves", or "charisma levels," things like that. That, and I've been making up experiance points for my quests.
... I really should write that stuff down, otherwise who'll know when I'll level up next... |

Most of my life is composed of geeky moments, since I'm a geek.
Though the most noteworthy that comes to mind wasn't by me. Back in high school a friend couldn't find his calculator, and among our circle of friends he said "I guess I'll just scry for it..." And trailed off, since he had been absolutely serious until he realized his own words. Looking back, it was just a well executed joke, but it had everyone fooled. Geeky A+! |
Well it's not really a drinking game in that sense. Really what we do is arbitrarily pick a season and episode by either rolling a dice or having a non-Trek person pick a number, then we pick either a word or event. Every time that event or word is said, we drink and get a point. At the end of the ep, the person with the most points wins either the rest of the bottle of alcohol or something.
For example: Last time we played, there were 4 people playing. I picked either the word "Engineering" or anytime the characters went into engineering. Friend 2: "Plasma" Friend 3: "Warp _" So warp, warp core etc. Friend 4: The mention of a rank (captain, commander etc) Guess who won? |

I have a working replica of the Ocarina of Time (it actually teleports me places!) For awhile I was obsessively braiding my hair like a certain anime character I know of. I regularly listen to Disney music. I have helped make a cake from scratch in the likeness of Kakashi (I mostly did the decorating with my best friend, her mom made the cake). And it was the best cake I've ever had. Yum! I went through a kleptomanic phase where I stole all of my friends' kneeded erasers and molded them into FMA characters. For new years I made myself a top hat out of construction paper, and a little white mask and ran around with my friends (who made otehr costumes) proclaiming myself Tuxedo Mask. Several times I have referred to real life in video games/anime/Dungeons and Dragons terms. Yeah, I'm a weirdo. |
In my social class, we were discussing cinematography. This lead to a discussion about Spiderman 3, and why Topher Grace is the perfect or worst choice for Eddie Brock. During this discussion I said that Topher Grace is the perfect choice because he's just like Peter Parker, and thus the perfect counter-point. Someone retorted that in the comics, Eddie Brock was a muscle bound brute.
With all serious, I said "Are we talking about the 80s version, the Ultimate Universe, Amazing Spiderman, Incredible SpiderMan, or Friendly-Neighbourhood Spiderman?" ...my teacher made a nerd noise. I sounded like "Nein." |
Geeky Moments??
You know, I've embraced my geek. Er... I have accepted my whole geeky self. I mean, I'm so far gone, I can't remember when I wasn't geeky.
Example, today, while driving to the store, me and my roommate where discussing recent events, about his father needing him to help with something. I remarked that that was rather intelligent, his Father realizing my roommate could be useful for that specific situation. My roommate then remarked how that was more a 'Wisdom' trait, that his Father's Intelligance had taken a bit of a hit over time, along with his Strength and Dexterity. That immediatly got me to thinking of my Dad, and what stats had been dropping on him with age. After a short amount of discussion, we figured his Intelligence and Wisdom had stayed up, following aging rules, but that his Strength and Constitution had not lowered much. Perhaps his Dexterity had taken a big enough hit to compensate. Then I though/said 'Thats kinda weird, following standard point-buy, my father started out higher then me, he's been breaking the rule'. This followed with us trying to figure out his starting class, as my roommate made a comment about him being a "True Vermonter" and my reponding that he was not born here. But he was a farm-boy. My roommate then said his Intelligence is entirely too high to be a farm-boy, it doesn't make sense. I was mearly comment that his work-ethic could have originated from that, would also explain the high physical scores. This was followed by me being silent for a few moments, not sad about me being that geeky, but the fact that life is so unfair. I should so at least get a few points of Charisma to compensate. Guess it's a side-effect to taking the "Nerd" class instead of "Cool Football Player" or "Incredibly Awsome Anti-Establishment Guy", two quite interesting class choices. I'm sure I'll come up with more. Perhaps very soon, as we may be gaming tonight. |
Nerdiest thing ever that I will do: Camp out for Onimusha 5, the day it is announced till the day it comes out, even if it is 3 years inbetween.

I"m gonna have to go with LARPing. Specifically, my signature move, in which I shout "DO A BARREL ROLL!", spin, and slash with two swords. Yeah. Also, whipping out my GBC in the middle of a discussion on games, saying "Old school ftw" and proceeding to play Pokemon Red.
