Is anyone else bored with this?

I'm not trying to get anyone pissed off here, but is anyone else bored with these threads? Most of the good ones are five pages or longer and long dead, and the new ones just aren't that interesting. Usually I can only find one or two threads worth posting in every day. I don't know about you guys, but I just don't find threads like "Attack of the Horrible One-Liners" to inspire a lot of disscussion and debate (no offence JADGuy, seriously.) What do you guys think? Am I right? Are there not enough interesting threads out there? Or do I need to broaden my interests or something?

Atronflame 02-08-2004 02:25 AM

Its because there arent any new threads. I cant seem to come up with any.

Just give it a bit. The forum is slowing down a little. Things change - it'll probably just get back to normal soon enough.

If you want something to constantly post in, join an RP. >_>

Perhaps you could MAKE some interesting threads... I've noticed that discussion doesn't have a whole lot that interests me these days. And the other sections aren't too horribly much better, but I still find stuff worth posting in, regardless.

But, yah... if it bothers you enough to make this thread, you should probably make some on things that do interest you.

Indeed, I've noticed a major slow down as well. It seems that people just aren't posting as much for whatever reasons. I've just been sort of waiting it out, and finding other places to visit as well (Such as this "Real World" thing I hear so much about. It's very fascinating...)

But like others have said, if you think the threads popping up aren't to your liking, then post your own.

C-dog 02-08-2004 02:57 AM

Hmm, so I'm not the only one noticing this slow-down. I WOULD post my own if I could think of any interesting subjects, but I can't. That's why I come HERE to find something interesting to talk (post) about.

You know, you can also restart an old closed-down thread. By all means, do so, if there is still some potential conversation left over in them.

Atma 02-08-2004 10:25 AM

I've noticed that as well. Good threads just aren't popping up as much as they used to. I could make some threads, but I just have to think of them first. :p

If you're having SUCH a hard time thinking of a topic to actually post, why not just post one along the lines of your interests. Seen a good movie lately? Discuss that. Read a good book recently, or have a favorite book series? There you go! It's easy, M'kay?

Just another suggestion...if you haven't already, join some other boards to hold you over while things are slow. I'm a member of this forum and one other, so when there's nothing going on here, there's usually something there, and vice versa.

Yeah, your right, I've noticed that most the posts are just list posts, where the posters just list what they like of a certain genre and nothing gets talked about... not that I mind those, their good to establish personality. I guess there hasn't been any real news to talk about lately, and if there is some, we all dive on it like buzzards to a carcass and blow it up to 7 or 8 pages in a single day. Its a scarce season. Why doesn't someone post about the presidential candidates? Maybe a poll? Ask why people support their candidate, and what their positions are? Probably just turn into a flame war or a huge page of people agreeing with eachother, though. I'd do it, but I can't remember the candidates' names.

Oh yeah, and all you listing people, help out this site, its in a dry season too. www.listenlist.org . You post reviews on bands, books, videogames, and whatnot, and people can respond to your reviews. Sadly, the postings are getting rare, and I don't want to fill up the site with my name. Alright, plug over!
