Lich seems somewhat surprised that BM wants to die then, but, had he known Fighter, nearly anything sentient would.

I'm unsure why BM doesn't just teleport/plane shift Fighter.

Black mages don't get no teleporting / planeshifting spells. If it don't do damage, it aint a black spell. (they also got negitive status effect spells, which all sucked).

Black Mage DID get the Warp spell, although White Mage gets Exit.

Black Mage had some beneficial spells too, such as Fast, or Sabr.

Yep, my bad. That was back in the day before time mages came around and stole all the (useless) spells away from Black and White mages all accross the land. i did find fast somewhat useful (although i had my red mage casting it so that's why i was confused) and warp isn't useful.

I think Black Mage may, for once, be playing the suave. He's doing reverse psychology, more over, reverse psychology on a creature that will actually buy it.

Lycanthrope's Prediction: Lich and BM start chatting about how everything needs to die, discussing their various evil philosophies and generally getting along well. At which point, theif has gone scouting for lich-king's phylactory, destroys it, and the lich is killed. Of course, I'm dead wrong, but I stand by my prediction.

Maybe Black Mage is going to pull an Obi-Wan Kenobi. The whole 'if you strike me down I'll become more powerful than you can possibly imagine' thing.

I'm not making a guess on the next episode (... or am I?), but I want to see BM cast Fast so we can have some crazy stabbity and/or swordy goodness.

time mages also stole the meteor spell, and if you say that status changing spells suck, you suck. slow/stop on an enemy, haste/quick on allies, teleport, and they were fast as it WAS!

poison. not bio, just poison. unless it lowered strength, which i don't think it did, it was just stupid, and took off like 1/16 or less of their max hp.

mute. did it ever really work on a magic user?? well, yea, in VIII it did, but besides that.

dark/blind. ok, i'm sure we all know that this never lowered the enemy's hit%. except in VIII.

sight. DUDE, if i wanna see more of the world map, i'll freaking walk it! random encounters make me stronger.

How does Lich know BM is smiling, anyways...?

Soul in a gem, eh? Is that derived from traditional legends or has someone been reading Neil Gaiman lately? (I won't say what exactly so as not to spoil things.) Either way, this is close enough to my "Vilbert-has-no-heart-or-possibly-keeps-it-somewhere-else" theory for me to claim I was right all along. Even if no one of you believes me.

Well, in NWN:SoU you had to fight a lich who's soul was kept in a rod, so that might be one point if insperation.
