Rumours, Trivialities and Hopefully not Bickering
 

In the absence of the Console Wars threads, it occurred to me a general video game thread might be a good idea. Just for rumours and things that might not have enough info to require a thread of it's own, but still merit some discussion. If more info comes up or discussion is active enough, then new threads can be created.

First thing, a site with a good track record for posting true rumours(according to Kotaku), has reported that a new CONSOLE Katamari has been announced to retailers for release later this year, called Beautiful Katamari(the name sounds right at least). For all 3 next-gen consoles.

So what's this playstation home thing? It's like Xbox Live except it's an MMORPG, or some shit?

Playstation Home is Second Life for the PS3. You take Nintendo's Mii idea, and get realistic avatars. You take Microsoft's Game Achievements, and get trophys to adorn your PSHome living space... It's a virtual world I guess. People can chat and play some fancy arcade games like pool or something. Why, you could invite someone to flip over some giant enemy crabs! Free download too.

The only thing that sounds rad is the fact that one could trade all sorts of files. Which leads to a massive PS3 fap network. Still won't get one though.

Alright, as an aspiring gaming journalist, this is my 'thang', if you will.

1up has tons of information and special features on gaming news. Fileplanet is a great pay site for mods and patches and demos, and it's pretty cheap. Especially when you want that World of Warcraft patch pronto. Game Revolution is just so crazy. And, of course, Tim Rogers.

That's all I've got for right now, since Kotaku was already mentioned.

I've been looking around a bit, but except for the video, there isn't much info on Little Big Planet. Do you control one character and the rest operate off of really good AI, or do you switch actively, or do you have some sort of trippy 'group AI' to run off of?

Also: Has there been any word about Guitar Hero sequels, or are they just going all over the 360 version?

I think it's actually multiplayer, since it does depend entirely on users. So everybody controls a character.

Neat. I'd love to see how the Wii controls end up. I played the PSP Katamari... back before I traded it in. It was fun, but not fun enough to warrant the not-owning of Advance Wars DS.

Im almost certain they specifically stated the series is dead and will no longer be continued.

They did.

But Konami has the license, and just because the team disbanded doesn't mean they can't make another one. I'm not all that surprised.

So then, if there is a new one, it wont be nearly as good, unless Konami uses this one as a game, and not a cash magnet.
