More reasons fast food is bad for you.

McDonalds is trying a new way to help people cut the fat back

A Hillsborough County (Florida) family is stunned after finding a dangerous item in their daughter's McDonald's Happy Meal.

Shelby Birch says, along with the chicken nuggets and French fries, a small utility knife was in the bag -- and part of the blade was exposed.

"At least ¾ of an inch of it was up," she said. "And it was rusty. Not a good thing for a 5 year old."

But rust is delicious...

Wow, glad I don't eat at McDonalds anymore. You'd think somone would notice somthing like that before putting it in the bag.

Why does insignificant shit like that even make the news? Christ, people, write chain emails that start with "PASS THIS ON TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW" like you used to. Better yet, find a way get some real meaning in your life. Handing out rusty knives is not company policy at McDonald's now, and you are not uncovering a huge scandal. End of story.

I agree, that place is an industrial assembly place, somebody got caught in a rush, had to snag more buns or a new box of toys and set the razor down where they shouldn't have and it fell in the bag. I would be more concerned with the hygenic practices of the people who sell you food than incedental crap like this. Hygene goes into every order, that is a freak accident.

Well, Iron Oxide is technically a salt...

Gascmark de Leone 03-21-2007 10:24 AM

I'm not sure McD's can cut anything more from their burgers. If they did, what you would have is some ketchup, mustard, pickles, and a bun.

This is why I don't like McDonalds anymore. I've loved Burger King for many a years now. But I don't eat their burgers, I love their chicken tenders.

And what American couldn't use more iron and chromium in their diet? I'd worry more about the plastic, though.

Seriously, unless it was sticking out of the burger, it's not the greatest hazard. Blades tend to lie flat, reducing the chance of anyone getting cut. While it might be scary to a parent, the most damage it could have done without some real force applied was freak the kid out when it scraped a finger.

That might be possible if you eat your burger the right way.
