God of War II: Orgasm in Video Game Format?

Yes.

Anyone else bought/played this yet?

I've found that it far surpasses the first game in just about every way. The battles are more difficult/fun. The moves are more entertaining. There's more weapons and relics to use. The status screen is better. The spells seem to be better. The puzzles are actually somewhat challenging. The story doesn't start so damned slow...

Over all it's about a hundred times better than the original. It's like they took all the good stuff from the first game, and made it better.

I wouldn't use the term "orgasm", as that implys that CENSORED will hit you out of some kind of fake CENSORED as soon as you start up the game, splattering you with CENSORED CENSORED.

Anyway.

I've played part of it, and it is indeed awesome. The only thing I really wish was in there is that they made a few more radical changes. The new weapons, bosses, spells, etc., etc. are indeed cool, as are the Pegusas sections, but it still feels like more of the same.

Mind you, the same is an awesome game that is one of the best action games in years, and one of the best action games period.

I wouldn't say it's a hundred times better than the first game, but it does make improvements in almost all of the areas.

For some reason, I have an absurd urge to put "9.5 out of 10" in here. Probably just read to many game magazines.

Well, I think another good bonus for it is that it's not coming out directly after a really awesome Devil May Cry game. It's basically entering into a pretty empty period for action games, instead of having to compete with another really awesome action game.

I mean, I'm not subconciously comparing it to DMC (which it borrows a lot from) this time. Instead I'm just enjoying it for what it is. Maybe a little more so, 'cause it's like an oasis in a desert right now, as I haven't seen too many games released recently that I'd really care to buy (though a lot of good ones should be coming out soon, if memory serves).

Oh my ___

I would have to agree, this game definately surpassed my expectations.

It has helped continue a running joke on my roommate (Who purchased this game):

"Ok, you are a fricken God and you died to that??"
(Originally started in Prince of Persia, I mean, you can manipulate time, how can you die?)

I enjoyed it mostly because, just when you think you can't become more broken, oh look! You can now SLOW FRICKEN TIME . Oh wait, now you can FLY! .

That and the creative ways for you to kill things is very entertaining.

I have yet to play the prequel, should I bother?

Yes. It's not quite as good as the sequel, but it's still pretty good.

I'm playing it when I can get my fiance off of it. I'm enjoying it a lot (as I did the first), but the game feels more like bonus levels than a sequel. Apart from flying, it's more of the same.

It's like seeing a friend wearing a different shirt.

Well a few of the levels and schticks (wings of icarus...) in the new one were in the 'making of' in the old one as levels that were dropped due to a lack of production time, so... yeah, take from that what you will.

So GoW 2 is like fifty times better than the first?

And I thought that the first was the best game to come out in 2005?

I can't buy this game. I might die of awesomeness overload.

I'm not sure the exact date it's out over here, (I thought it was out earlier this month) but when it arrives it will be MINE!

I love the first game and I know I'm going to love this one too.

A problem I have with the GoW series is that it does to much at the beginning to be badass so by the end of the game it's just mundane. I mean in the original one it was so freakin' cool to skewer hydra heads in the first level, but then at the end of the game when you finally fight Ares it felt like just another fight with a common soldier.
