Why didn't we get free HDTVs?

The PS3 launch was allegedly (500 000 apparently) successful in Europe, and as a bonus, to all the peopl qued in line, a free HDTV! Basically, now the price is completely justified, a console and a TV, but why dont we get that here? Oh...

Did Sony just pull thesleves together, is this the kind of thing that can save the PS3?

Hmmm, it just goes to show that Sony know how deep in their own shit they've managed to sink that they have to flog off HDTVs to generate interest in their product, in my opinion.

But the point is they gave away HDTVs, if they did that here, people would be in line for PS3s for months, thats like a $2200 value for $600, an HDTV, BR Player, and a console.

And the Austrailan lauch was even worse.

The PS3 sucked in France too.

Sony are like the laughing stock of the gaming industry now. Even more so than Sega.

But yeah it bombed down here in Oz, the first guy in the country to get one showed up 2 hours before launch. Not a good sign. Compared to the packed though polite frenzy of the Wii and 360 launches a horrible one.

Really, I thouhg 500 000 was a good number of sales.

Well, it would be 1/3 of their total consoles sold so far, I believe. I can't really tell, the sales numbers are so tiny they're hard to see.

Well in all honesty, I am suprised how well Sony took MS's stunt at the French launch. I am not buying a PS3. I am not buying a Wii. I am not buying a 360. After my PS2 is done, I ma finished with gaming. I will not buy a system I dont want, I will not buy a system made by a bunch of assholes, and I will not buy a system sure to fail. Besides, im getting too old for video games anyways. Next gen is a waste of money.

If you let corporate machinations get in the way of your fun, then yeah pretty much everything will suck and be a waste of money.

I hvae no interest in the Wii, and everytime a mini game collection is relaeasd it wanes further, PS3 is never going to last past this year, and 360, well, MS has pissed me off so many times I will never support them anymore.
