The Warring States of NPF - Yggdrasil Mafia Sign Ups

EDIT: I will be taking role requests as well. Specify two choices in your post, so if your first choice is taken, you will recieve your second choice. If both roles are taken, you get a random role. This is on a first come, first serve basis.

(For those of you who don't have a background in Norse mythology, Yggdrasil is the tree that holds up the universe. Actually, that's an incredibly simplified version, so go read Wikpedia, or something if you want to find out more.)

(Also, be aware that I have taken certain liberties with the mythology to make it into a Mafia. It's not gonna' outright contradict the mythology, excepting the end, which will be different based on how the game goes, but some things will be slightly different.)

The Rules
Even if you have played Mafia before, please skim the rules, at least. For first-timers, please read the rules completely.

1. There will be 25 players. You sign up by sending me a PM. When all of the slots are taken, sign-ups will be closed, and I will PM everyone their roles.

7) It is a game. It is supposed to be fun. Go have fun, but keep these ground rules in mind.

3. When I say "talk", I mean any way. Use e-mail, AIM, PMs, whatever you want to converse with those your role allows you too.

DO NOT use Yapplet, as anyone can see the conversation.

Also, the if I catch anyone talking our-of-game illegally, you're out. Period. If I don't state in the PM that you have abilities to talk to people outside of the game, you are restricted to talking in this thread. (And, of course, you can always talk to me with complaints, questions, etc.)

Similarly restricted are dead players. No talking with dead people, even if you could talk to them while they were alive.

4. Every person has a role of some sort. However, these are the classic ones you need to know. They will obviously be called something different.:

Police Officer- Can investigate people and learn their roles. Town aligned.
Bodyguard- Can protect people. Town aligned.
Vigilante- Can kill people. Town aligned.
Serial Killer- Can kill people. Self aligned, wins when only two people remain, including themself.
Cult Leader- Can induct people, changing their alignment to Cult. Wins when every alive player is cult.
Mafia Don- Leader of the Mafia. Has final say in who the Mafia kills. If one Don dies, another random Mafia member takes their place. Can talk to Mafiates. Mafia aligned.
4 Mafiates- Can talk to Don and each other. Can vote on who they think should be killed. Mafia aligned.
Masons- Can talk with each other. Town aligned.

That's all of the basic roles. There are others, of course, but they're secret.

5. You may only edit posts to correct minor issues, such as grammar, bolding, punctuation, etc. If I suspect you changed a post substantially, I'll get Fenris or the nearest mod to look at the pre-edit post. This is to prevent edit wars. I saw one at TGC, and it gave me bad headaches. A second one would probably cause my brain to start hemmorrhaging.

6. You may not directly copy and paste PMs.

Round Procedure

During the Day

1. Players may vote on who to lynch during the day. This is accomplished by saying "Vote: Mr.Bookworm". If you change your mind, you may withdraw your vote by saying "Unvote: Mr.Bookworm". You may also state your suspiscions of a person by saying "FOS (Finger Of Suspicion): Mr.Bookworm".

You may also choose to not lynch someone, for whatever reason. You do this by saying "Vote: No Lynch".

You may also Roleclaim. This states that you are [Insert Role Here]. HOWEVER, it is illegal to directly copy 'n paste PMs, so all people have is your word. You Roleclaim by saying "Roleclaim: InsertRoleHere".

2. If a person has more than half the number of alive people voting for them, they are lynched. If a person has the most votes on them when a deadline is passed, they are lynched.

3. Upon lynching, I will write a lynch post. This reveals the lynched person's role, and signals the start of night.

During the Night

1. No one can post during the Night, 'cept me. And mods, acting their official capacity as mods, not players.

2. People with night roles (Bodyguard, Cult, Mafia, etc.) send in their targets. They have 48 hours/2 days to do this. After that, if not in, I skip them and they don't act that Night.

3. I write a post explaining the events of that Night. This might contain a clue of some kind. Probably won't, though.

Then another day begins, and the whole vicious cycle repeats until only one ~~Tribe~~ faction is victor.
