Legend of Zelda: Your favourite "companion"

By companion, of course, I mean the character that kinda follows you around. Who do you like most? Navi? Tatl? The... umm... Gossip stone? Post your favourites, and your reasons, here!

My favourite is Midna because she actually does stuff other than yell at you every five minutes. Especially when you're Wolf Link. The energy field technique is just plain awesome.

Hmmmm....

Personality-wise. I would say Midna because I liked her character (but I hardly consider her a "companion", since she kind of stole the main character role from Link and just made him her errand boy (what with everyone talking around Link. I mean, the final boss hardly took interest in Link other than to attack him).

Helpfulness-wise, I willl be butchered for this, but other than Navi's constant "HEY HEY HEY LISTEN" I found talking to her to be much more helpful than other companions (because sometimes you just miss the stupid little things). Plus, I'm the type of person who likes to know everything about all of the monsters, and I liked that when you targeted the monsters and talked to her she would tell you about them. (I think Tatl did that too) And she fills the role of "companion" better, because she's just there to help you and act as a companion to Link..

Although it might have something to do with Ocarina of Time being my favorite Legend Of Zelda.

Same as CJ for pretty much the same reasons, Midna personality wise, Navi help wise.

So you a slave to those beastiary quests too? FF12 could have made me it's bitch by that alone let alone all the other reasons.

the talking hat. Hats rule.

Kerensky287 03-25-2007 11:37 AM

Personally, I think Tatl was better than Navi because Tatl's "Beastiary" things all involved insults to intelligence. They were more fun to read.

And... I never beat Minish Cap, so I don't know the talking hat at all.

What about Sprite. Anybody remember her =P

Actually, I am kind of fond of Navi.

I liked the companion you got in A link to the Past. What was its name again? Oh right...you didn't get one.

Sure you did, you had Zelda in your head!

I haven't played Twilight Princess yet, but of all the other ones it's probably the Minish Cap. Sure, he made that really annoying sound effect, but in comparison to the rest of the companions he was much better.

There's no debate here. I'm just going to have to go with Midna. Because she has become one, if not my favorite Zelda character aside from Link.

She was insanely more filled out for a Zelda character than almost any previous character in any game and the people over at Nintendo went overboard both animating her both on the outside and her personality. While Twilight Princess had a lot to live up to trying to be a 'next Ocarina of Time' and it probably would never be able to do that, Nintendo was able to ovetake a few things, like expand the world and dungeons, create more to do in between travelling to destinations and of course, evolve the Navi type helper into someone like Midna. And I loved the change as a helper but even more as a character.

Minish cap is cute and Navi I never had a problem with like everyone else did. But Midna wins without a second thought.
