BREAKING NEWS: Sonic and Mario in same game at last.

http://marioandsonic.sega-europe.com/en/index.html

Looks like they finally caved in to demands of a Sonic+Mario game. It's a sports title it seems.

Just as long as there is no Tails. Seriously there was two ways to win Sonic games: play through all the levels as Sonic or pick Tails at the start up menu.

Woo, finally. And it looks like Sega's developing it, too, according to the very limited info I could pull from the page. I guess we can finally see, once and for all, if Sega can do what Nintendon't...

This is for the...Olympics? Well uh...ok...I bet I know who's gonna win Track and Field competitons...

Why is this not a platformer?

It is a sign.

Maybe the fastest thing alive will be Brawling as well.

Thats the way i interperet

The two could totally compete against each other. Mario isn't that slow, but he can leap over things and is more acrobatic/upper arm strength then Sonic, which would make him far superior for pole vaulting, gymnastics, and the hammer throw.

But then, Sonic would win the long distance jump, the 20, 40, and 100 yard dash, and possibly anything that relies on doing an action repeately and fast.

But Mario would win the Triathalon and water sports easy, as Sonic can't swim.

He can run on water though, if he goes fast enough.

How did I know someone would say this?

No, but he does have the amazing ability to whittle down the differences in basic physics, between "water" and "air", to just the one, "I can't breathe in this."

which would make him far superior for [...] the hammer throw.
Considering everything else that's been allowed in Mario-related sports games, I wouldn't be surprised if Sonic could simply use the propulsion from his Spin Dash to turn himself into a living Rail Gun.

...Okay, now I want to see this.

And here I thought this thread was about new Super Smash Brothers Brawl information. This is disappointing and extremely refreshing, actually.

Still, please, please, no pseudo heavy rock soundtrack, for god's sake.

And, for those Tails haters, I'm sorry, but he's in there:

My money is on Tails in the high jump.
