Doctor Who: Series Three

So, the first episode of the new series has just been shown on the BBC.

Good, weren't it? I wonder how many people highlighted my post for any spoilers....Well, tough! I learnt my lesson from last time

In the words of the late Doctor (Eccleston), FANTASTIC!

Martha looks like she's going to be a great replacement for Rose, and some of the upcoming episodes... wow. I can't wait for The return of the Cult of Skaro. Couple that with the return of both the Face of Bo and his mysterious secret AND the return of Captain Jack, and this season's gona rock.

I also like those Judoon from ep.1 too. Rhino stormtroopers FTW!

It appears we are gonna have another "Torchwood/Bad Wolf" type thing this season as well...

And the Empire would of been SOOO much cooler if Vader commanded Rhino Stormtroopers....

Now gimme my Captain Jack bitches!
Torchwood season 1 has left me in pain....

You're forgetting the (rumoured) return of the Master, by Life on Mars' star John Simm. Oh, and scarecrows too, as well as the Steven Moffat's episode Blink.

Haven't watched today's episode, yet I will, eventually. Stupid Atlantic Ocean, separating me from my British destiny.

Woah, woah... Series Three started already?! In Britain or in America? If I missed the premiere, I'm going to be a sad li'l Who Fan. And if not... I guess I'll be sad too, because I have to wait even longer for the STUPID SCIFI CHANNEL TO GET THE NEXT SEASON!!

If it's not in the 'states already, it had better come over pretty darn soon. I'm going through Who withdrawal. I ran out of Key to Time dvds a month ago. I don't know if I can hold out much longer.

You're right, I completely forgot about that too, but that's probably because it's still only a rumour. It will be kickass if it's true though.

Don't worry Mauve, this is the one time of the year when America has to wait ages instead of us for a new season. I think the last thread somebody on here started about Doctor Who was like 5 months ago, at the begining of the last seasons run over in america, so you're probably going to have a bit of a wait yet.

By the way, did you guys get Torchwood yet anyway?

mauve 04-01-2007 03:39 AM

Nope, and we probably WON'T get Torchwood. SciFi Channel's too fond of Battlestar Galactica and whatnot to bother playing other shows. I'm actually surprised they even had the new Dr. Who.

Although from what I hear from you guys about Torchwood, I'm not missing much.

You know, it's not that bad really, it's just nowhere near as good as DW.

Upon re-watching ep.1, I think I've figured out what this seasons might be. There was a refference to "the darkness", an echo of a line that was quite prominent in Torchwood, and had huge ramifications in the finale with Abbadon. Seeing as they never quite clear that whole matter up last season on DW with ol' Beastie, and because the Doctor turned up to pick up Jack straight after recovering from killing Abbadon, along with this great secret of Bos', it could be an indication of things to come.

I could be completely wrong, but it's worth listening out for, just in case.

And lets face it, they need a new Big Bad on Who, we can't have Daleks AGAIN, so bring in another established villian instead.

Judging by fanspeculation, obviousness, and Torchwood's finale, it looks like it's true.

I really think they are bringing back The Master here due to everything that happened in Torchwood along with Face of Boe telling the Doctor last season that "He is not alone"...
Plus, it sets up perfectly that they need to extend the Doctor's life span eventually cause I can see Davies running through 2 more Doctors in the next 5 years with the way he is doing things...
I doubt Tennet will stay too much longer as well.
