The Rules:
This is a 12 Person Mafia and roles will be decided at random by the Game Organizer(me). I will then PM your role to you. This mafia is designed to be easier to understand for new and inexperienced players and no mafia knowledge or experience is required to participate.

Roles

1) Of the 12 There will be 3 mafia, the mafia may communicate with each other using any method. one of the mafia will be the Mafia Don who is required to send in the target at night to kill.

2) There will be one the Police officer, each night he will PM the GO with a players name to investigate and will recieve in the morning a result showing the Alignment of there target.

3) There will be one Doctor, each nght the doctor will pick someone to protect and if that player would be killed at night they will survive.

4) There may or may not be a vigilante

5) Everyone else will be vanilla Townies, They have no special powers

Rules

1) Only the mafia may talk outside of the thread all other discussion must take place in the thread

2)once killed a player is not told who is mafia and has no special knowledge the rest of you don't. Outside communication with living players is forbidden. Feel free to converse with your fellow dead/non-playing mates about the game.

3) During the day all of the players discuss whom they think is in the Mafia. They can judge this based on who was killed last, how suspicious their opponents sound, or anything else they want to use as evidence.

4) Each player will vote on who is to be lynched, if you think someone is suspicious you may FOS(Finger Of Suspicion) them, this does not count as a vote.

5) During the day you may make a role claim but you may not copy and paste your role pm, roleclaims are not required to be true you may claim whatever you want.

6) Votes for lynching are to be posted on the thread. To simplify counting the votes, each player will identify their vote with the words vote: username followed by the screen name of the person they vote for. Be sure to bold your vote (Example; Vote: Captain Combustible), or it will not count. Votes may be posted at any time after the morning deathpost. once the majority of the town votes for a player that player will be lynched.

Revisions. Players will be allowed any number of revisions. The last post with a revision in before the voting deadline will be the one that counts. If you wish to revise your vote it should be identified first with an Unvote (Example; Unvote: Captain Combustible), and then a new Vote.

If you post your vote prior to the opening of voting for the round, it will not be counted. Revisions to those votes posted within the voting period will be counted.

The GO will tally the votes, and announce the lynched person. The lynched person is then out of the game. The lynched person may respond to the lynching by saying something to everyone before death, but only has one post. The lynched person may afterwards haunt the thread but they may say nothing substantial to the game and should not spam.

In the event of a tied lynch vote, the voting period shall be extended for twenty-four hours. Players who wish to amend their votes may do so during this period.

At the close of the extended deadline, if the lynch vote is still a tie then there will be no lynching that week.

Players may also vote for a no-lynch which will end the day with noone dying.

7) At night the Mafia Don will send in a kill, the Police Officer will pick someone to investigate and the Bodyguard will pick someone to protect.

There will be posting at night and this applies to all players. Night will last a maximum of 3 days.

The GO will announce when night ends and say who died overnight.

Upon a players death their role will be revealed.

The Town wins when all the Mafia are dead and the The Mafia wins when they make up half the alive players.

Well...

Some people sign up here, by simply saying, "I want to sign up", or some variation thereof, but technically the proper way to sign up is to PM the GM.

Given that we've separated the forums for actual games and game talking, it shouldn't be too big of a problem should it? It also keeps a person from being bombarded with PMs.

It bumps the thread up, and tells people there's a game going on, allowing them to know they can join.
