Community Forum

Due to continual requests for such you now have a community forum, for all community-related activities. From now on all camwhoring and member comics and all that kind of thing can be done in here. So far it's all the sticky threads from various places that make more sense being in here, and mod-approval for any new threads. Past that we'll work out the particulars as we go along (I'm choosing to think of this as kind of a working experiment).

You can use this thread for any comments/suggestions relating to this community forum.

If a community forum is the case then for the comic thread, wouldn't it make more sense to let everyone running a series have their own thread. When you think of the small number of people running an active series, it kinda makes sense. The leftover comic thread could be used for one-shot comics.

But hey, that's just my opinion.

That would cause things to be much too cluttered. Even if they had thier own dedicated forum, it'd be much too cluttered. It's best to leave them consolidated for now.

That was actually discussed between fifth and myself, and we (read: he) decided it was best to leave it the way it is now. There are several comics in there that are discontinued (which could be organized into their own thread, but hey), there would be a lot of post moving that would result in people like Rick posting 70 times in a row, and there would be a lot of "NOBODY LOVES MY COMIC I SO EMO" happening.

Mainly from me. ^_^

There really is no need for separate comic threads. If you did it that way you'd basically have to sticky them all. Especially if you made the forum open. Most of the regular series update weekly or so. They'd fall off the first page way to easy. It'd be even worse if circumstance forced them to miss a week.

Then there is the whole issue of do we continue to comment in one thread or put them with the comics. If we put them with each individual comic then you have to wade through them to find the comic. If we don't you end up with threads that only one person ever posts in. So in the end its much more efficient to have it this way. Though there could be some potential in separating the comics from the poem pictures and what not but then again 90% of the thread is comics anyways so very little benefit would occur. Not to mention it'd probably kill the poem, picture, whatnot aspect.

In short, leave it alone.

I figure that'd just work like outside-forum comics work in B&C, where people can just bump their own threads if they've got something new. Only thing I'm worried about is if you go open-forum you end up with a crapton of stuff you do have to sticky, like Camwhores and Announcements etc etc.

I guess as far as that goes it'd probably be clever of people to use their first post as an index?

Shoot, the RaiRO forum is doing their creative works the way that everyone right now dislikes. Look at the amount of people that make comics right now, it isn't a lot. And are you people that afriad of the second page? This would organize comics to where we can just find the one as long as we knew who did it and they were polite enough to put an index in their first post.

Though you might consider making it closer to mandatory for the whole index thing.

So you really want to condemn people to clicking through seven threads once a week to find what used to be in one thread. Not to mention we've got series that are going far into the double digits. That's a lot of indexing. Then of course someone has to sort through the 1000+ posts of the comic thread and sort them out by author. Unless you're just going to archive the big thread and have everyone essentially start over.

Would we have given you full color coordination if we didn't care what you think?

(PS It was Krylo who did that, he did you a whole user group of your own and everything.)
