Cosplay Help
 

My anime club is holding a cosplay contest and I want to try it out. This will be my first time cosplaying and I need some easy costume ideas. Bear in mind that I'm a College student with hardly any sewing experience. Any ideas are welcomed.

Go as Voltron.

What are you talkin' about! I vote you go as the Black Mage! How hard is it to find a blue robe, and a hat?

Black mage?!?! I'd say go as white mage. all you'd need is a plain white blanket with red trim to use as a cloak.

Well, I suppose if you wanted to, you could dress up as any generic anime female villain. Just get a black bathing suit and a cape with some little plastic skulls on them. Then cut your hair weird. There you go, your every female anime villain ever. Or, if you don't have a cape, you can just go in a bathing suit with some holes cut in the belly, wear a belt, and be every anime sci-fi female hero ever. I feel sorry for women in anime. The men get to wear comfortable pants, and the women are stuck in bathing suit-like skimpy unitards. Only one man for every 1000 women on a space ship, yet all the women dress like that, just doesn't make any sense.

Alright, past the sarcasm, which animes do you like? Maybe you can remember a character you really liked that didn't have that much of a crazy costume. That basically rules out any fantasy anime, though. Are you not willing to sew, or are you just saying your bad at it?

I'm a terrible sewer unfortunately. WM is pretty easy I guess, and my hair is kinda red...

Your mom porbably would help you become better if you want.

Oh, oh, I know! Go as Tomba! All you have to do is dye your hair pink and wear tattered green shorts! Although there is a problem about you being female.. uh.. explain that Tomba went through some hormonal imbalances... killing evil pigs will do that to you...

Aren't you a woman? Shouldn't you know how to sew?

And come on? A female Black Mage? You wouldn't have to worry about hair at all. and if you need some inspiration, you've already seen what I see as a female Black Mage.
