Final Fantasy 9 Abilities
 

I started playing FFIX again, and I need some help.

I'm at the end of the 4th disc and I am missing I think 3 of both Dagger's and Vivi's abilities. I can't really remember if there was a sidequest that you had to go on to get special equipment or not, (I beat the game over a year ago) :confused:
I would go beat the game, but I want to get as much time into the game as I can :D

Hmm I got all of Daggers abilities and summons, though I can't remember where I got them all. On Vivi I got all of his abilities except for Doomsday, I cannot find that item! I cannot remember where I got any of the items, but check all the synth shops, Black Cat, Treno, and Hade's synth shop have alot of those items if I remember it correctly.

Don't you get Doomsday from Zeus' Mace? I don't rightly recall.

A lot of items can be found via chocobo hot and cold, if you haven't done so already. I believe that there are also some weapons and such in the last area, the big purple ball thing on the tree. I remember something about there being an excalibur2 in there if you had a small enough time.

Yeah. You had to get through Memoria and defeat Hades, as well as check a nearby pillar, in under 12 hours. As for abilities, it's the exact same as the Excalibur's.

dagger's summons shouldnt be too hard to get all of, the only one i think that might be difficult is ark (the 5 minute summon). To get that you must either face and defeat ozma in the chocobo sky garden (just wear a bunch of shadow absorbing armor) or talk to the hades synth shop. That place has everything.

You can get Pumice from defeating Ozma? Damn, even when you think you know everything, you still don't...

Ark's summon doesn't take 5 minutes. It takes 1 minute 40 seconds. Yes, I timed it one day. Normally I'd be frustrated by the long rev-up time, but when you have auto-haste and auto-regen on all your characters, you come to LOVE long summons animations!

If you ca tell me the abilities you're missing, I can probably tell you where to get 'em. I'm a major FF9 nut. Just check out my sig. :)

Having never beaten Ozma, but gotten Ark, I can tell you this much.

A) Somewhere in the story, you'll get a Pumice Piece, I believe its in the battle against Ark in that one place that you can't use magic.

B) You get another by digging up Chocographs, and one of the treasure sets has a Pumice Piece.

C) You can steal a Pumice Piece from Ozma(if your crazy enough to try, or have the right equipment.)

As for the Mace of Zeus, supposedly, its in Memoria, in the clock tower-like area before Lich.

An actual question though, just how rare is the Eyeball(or whatever it is you use to get Excalibur.) at the auction? Or at what point in time/what disc do I need to go to get it?

If I remember correctly, you can only get the trade item (Gogo's hands or something of that nature) on disk 4. Then you take them to that guy in the city with the hydrolic lifts on the mountain. I'm sure someone will come along and tell you more in depth.
