Really cool techno?

i wanna know!

Caska 02-13-2004 10:11 PM

Though most people might dismiss her for her former occupation =P ... Traci Lords makes some good techno. There's "Control" from the Mortal Kombat soundtrack, "I Want You," and uhh.. well that's all I can remember right now.

I really like trance. I just type in "trance" into shareaza and DL whatever songs come up. I do not know the names of many but N-Trance "Forever" is good, hardcore vibes, Tunnel Trance vol 27, and OC remixes.

Minor Dizaster 02-13-2004 11:11 PM

The only techno I've ever listened to is "Sandstorm" by Darude. It's pretty cool.

Atronflame 02-13-2004 11:24 PM

Ahh, Dizaster beat me to it.

However, Ive got a few to list...

DDR- Shooting Star
DDR- Boys
DDR- Cartoon Heroes
DDR- Healing Vision [Angelic Mix]
Anything else DDr you might like
Captain Jack - Dream a Dream (also DDR)

Ok moving out of DDR...

DJ Johan Glien - Gothic Dream
DJ Tiesto - Forbidden Paradise
DJ Liquid - Angel
Happy Hardcore - Sunrize

http://www.psyguy.com/ Go here, look for some of the techno he did. Its actually really good.

Some tunes that were on 8-bit's flash movies.

Expansion Union - Playing with Lightning (8-bit main flash)
Astral Projection - Solid Electronics (night of the ninjas)

Some more... (a few you should already know, others you might not)

Louie - Dark Rave (very repetetive but kinda good)
Rob D - Clubbed2Death
Various Mortal Kombat Themes (I recommend the one by the Immortals)

I cant really think anymore, but remix.overclocked.org is good for Video Game tunage as well.

Also... I dont know if this counts, but Jet Set Radio future stuff is good as well. I like Teknopathic. :D

If I think of any more Ill let you know.

Blazed up Melophena (Something like that) from DOA2 is pretty cool too.

If you have the misfortune of seeing the commercial for Fired Up! a lot, you'll begin to like those songs..although I will admit that I turn to you is actually good.

Mr. Wind-Up Bird 02-14-2004 12:58 AM

Freezepop!

I would download some DJ Shadow and some Eight

AerodynamicHair 02-14-2004 10:32 AM

Some of the newer Daft Punk stuff, I think. Like Better, Harder, Faster, Stronger, which has a video somewhere on www.albinoblacksheep.com. I think its labeled Work it by Evilzug. There you go.

Edit---------------------------------------------------------------------

Here it is. http://www.albinoblacksheep.com/flash/workit.php . I think daft punk is techo, sounds like it...

e-man2001 02-14-2004 11:03 AM

any of Prodigy's early music was pure techno beauty (you might remember it from the hackers soundtrack)
Also Orbital has some really nice stuff (they wrote the theme for The Saint movie)
Darude is good, as is happy hardcore.
Daft Punk's music has always been kinda techno not just the latest album.

But my main suggestion would be Prodigy. They broke up a while back, but their first two albums Experience, and Music for the Gilted Generation are some of the finest techno albums out there.
