Is there an audience for
 

a traditional, 22-26 page comic book, released monthly, only on the internet instead of in print? Like a webcomic, free access and all, but 22 pages at a time, once a month?

Because it's a project I'm interested in, I just didn't want to put it out there for it to be ignored.

It defiantly has potential, However, you would need something to hook readers into staying.

On the one hand it seems like a big part of building an audience is getting them to come back day after day. On the other hand it seems like you could probably get people to come back if they know they're getting a full-on 22-page dose of content every time they show up. I suspect ultimately the quality of the content is what would determine your success.

Also, the problem of hosting. If you're doing ad-generated Revenue to help pay for it, once a month visits don't appeal to anyone.

On the other hand, if your work is good enough, It doesn't matter.

*points out the fact that Nikose has a brand spankin' new comic website, and that Nikose also has a tendency to host comics for anyone who says "please"*

It would be interesting.

Gone With The Blastwave is a good example it updates really rarely (only one page, too), but still has a good-sized following.

So it could work.

What would the comic be about? Subject matter (and quality thereof) is really the issue. As long as your comic's good enough, there are no issues.

Another thing to think about, because of the lack of continuous updates, would be some sort of email notification system. I have no idea whether that would be viable or not, but it'd certainly be a good alternative to forgetting about it, and it might help you maintain more of a following.
