Spider-Man ~ 2008 Release

In case you kids and giggling pickles did not know...
Spider-man is being put into cartoon format ONE MORE TIME.
The projected release of it onto our brains is 2008.

I have good news for those of you who are afraid it'll suck nuts like Ultimate Spider-Man or the MTV Spider-Man.
Weisman is in charge. If you don't know who he is then let me tell you something about him..

He was the main man behind Gargoyles, he's written the story for one episode of Ben 10(The mummy episode), and taken part in numerous other shows as writer and/or director and/or whatever the hell.

Those of you who saw the first two seasons of Gargoyles, before "The Goliath Chronicles"(He was not a part of that at all), let me here you say a Hell Yes to the fact that he's in charge of the new Spider-Man cartoon that WILL NOT BE LINKED TO THE MOVIES.

That is very sweet news...but I doubt this is the last time the ol' Web Head is going to be in a cartoon...but hopefully people won't loose intrest so quickly

And maybe he can set everyone straight on how Sandman didn't kill Peter's uncle (I swear if one more person tells me he did...)

...I thought ultimate Spider-Man was the MTV Spider-Man? Or do you mean the comic Ultimate Spider-Man?

ultimate spider-man is the one that came a year or two after Spider-Man:TAS(1994 beginning date I believe) finished.

SM:TAS is considered one of the single best Spider-man Cartoons thus far, it's the one that went on for seven or so years.

Ultimate had a new art style, new costume(Nanobots), and "Counter-Earth" was where it all took place, with animal people and a retarded plot that made me sad.

MTV Spider-Man should just be shot.

Looking to wikipedia for more information I've managed to find out info on the other known members of the staff::

Looks like a pretty well experienced crew, and I believe Weisman has worked with some of these individuals in the past so it should potentially all work smoothly, instead of having conflicts.

SHIT YEAH LADIES

If you ever want to revive a franchise, build hype by making a movie series.

Words to live by.
This is great news, though I do hope they tone-down on Spidey's monologue-ing this time around.

Death by Stabbing 04-10-2007 05:27 PM

Unless it's like Max Payne's inner monologue...he's all tough and gritty...also it needs more Stan Lee being the announcer like in the 80's cartoon...he has a sweet voice

Actually that was called Spider-Man Unlimited, Ultimate Spider-Man is the name of a comic book title.

Also,

Yeah, all Marvel cartoons need an intro narrated by Stan Lee for at least the first episode.

Thanks.
my hatred of it is so great that I couldn't even get the thing right. Because I'm a retard.
And hate it.

Such hate.

MTV's Spider-Man had some interesting storylines and (somewhat) decent animation, actually. I just wish it A.) wasn't presented in the (first) movie's framework, and B.) had some real character development beyond just Peter, MJ, and Harry. I mean, look at the Kingpin. He was introduced and captured in the same freakin' episode. The series that aired on FOX (and later ABC Family/Jetix) had gone through an entire season or two before Spidey even became aware of Kingpin's existence (thanks to Daredevil). In the end, he wasn't even brought to justice (due to his being well-connected and incredibly devious/enterprising, to say the least). Some of the character designs were just weird, though (Lizard and Electro come to mind).

I liked the art and designs in Spider-Man Unlimited, particularly Spidey's nano-suit, for the most part. It gave a really comic-booky feel to it that's so needed in much of today's cartoons (TMNT and Justice League are good examples of how to do it right). I hated the symbiote designs for some reason, plus the fact that the writers/producers decided to have Venom and Carnage working together, a far cry from their comic book counterparts, whom despised each other almost as much as they despised Spider-Man. I really wish they got to finish the series.

Also, this topic needs more linkage. You're welcome.
