Is there any way we could have one ginormous chat (voice or type) session to talk to each other live? I dunno, I just think it would be kinda cool to finally "meet" each other. Maybe AIM, someone creating one giant chat room.

I tried getting some people to go on IRC, but no one wants to download and install it.

How do you suggest 'meeting' people... on AIM?

It sounds a little flawed, maybe if you explain a bit more.

I just mean "talking" to people through typing or something. Voice would be even better. Not actual "meeting" of people as in seeing their faces or anything. Just a...um...get-together.

Maybe later Ill see if I can get a bunch of people to join a chatroom. Once my parents leave or something.

Hey I'm all for it. It would be nice to talk to people about general things and not a specific topic like what we do here.

There is an 8-Bit themed chatroom on IRC. Just follow these simple steps:

1) Log onto any EfNet server you can get onto
2) /join #8-Bit.Theater

And you're there! Fun fun fun!

Yeah except the fact that the 8-bit IRC channel is like immense idling XD

Every time I try IRC, no one is on...ever. This is why I am suggesting AIM.

If you want to try to do it through aim or AOL or something, thats pretty simple. Just set up a post with a time per day for the room to be opened, and the name of the chatroom, and where it is. You can also do this with IRC and any other type of chat, simply list the site. Then, ask a moderator to make the message stick in one of the forums, like the general forum. If you really want to chat, set it up like this, and you'll be garaunteed to get some people in. Don't do it the day of the post though, set up a start date. Oh, and use a password. Just list the password in the post, and call the chatroom 8-bit member chat or something.

Well, thats just how I would do it. Use it, don't use it, I don't care, though chatting in real time would be nice.

Yeah, and maybe there's a way, somehow, to make different "sub-rooms" to talk about different subjects so we don't have a screen completely full of gibberish.
