Genres you just don't like
 

We all ahve genres of games we just cant enjoy, what are they for you?

For me, sports and racers, but I also just cant enjoy RTS games. I try but it just doesn't happen, I cant sit there for hours on end managinf troops, it's just boring. Am I a bad gamer for that?

I guess I'm not into sports at all.

Other than that, most action-adventure games don't float my boat either. But pure action games tend to. *shrug*

I don't like racing games, with the exception of Mario Kart. But that deviates heavily from the racing game format, so I'm not sure if it isn't part of a separate genre. I don't like FPS' since I tend to suck at them. Anything else is okay though. I reserve the right to change my mind if and whenever I feel like it, though.

Sports games, except for the Mario-versions (especially Mario tennis)

Other than that... Hmmm... I'm not a huge FPS fan. There's a couple that I like, but generally not. Other than that, I'm a pretty happy camper

MMORPGs.

I mean, I try to get into them for a little while, but eventually I get bored of levelling up, and dealing with PKers at the same time.

Man, I am actually not a fan of the opne world type of games, I find them tend to get a bit aimless and boring after a while, runnin between missions and all.

The only sports games I've really enjoyed were NBA Jam, NFL Blitz, and Mutant League Football. I guess Wii Sports too though if count that. All other sports games are boring to me.

Same goes for racing games too. The only one I ever enjoyed was the Mario Kart series. As Tendronai said, it doesn't even feel like it belongs in the same genre as say Gran Turismo.

For some reason, I can't finish Baldur's Gate/Planescape:Torment/Icewind Dale games. I've tried repeatedly, but when I want the plot to continue, the game throws fuckloads of monsters at me, and I'm like, "I don't care! I just want to fucking bang Fall-From-Grace, already!"

I think it might be about time for me to try that game again...I got the furthest in Torment because it was just totally sweet to go around and talk to everyone.

Also, jRPGs too. I finished Final Fantasy 10 and almost finished 6 - I lost the airship - and they were terrific, but I dunno. Ever since then I just haven't felt the need for it.

I don't really like racing games either, except for Mario Kart. So far, I haven't played a Mario Sports game that I haven't really enjoyed (haven't played Mario Baseball though)

I also don't really like RPGs with the Turn Based combat system, like in Final Fantasy. It just kinda messes with the overall experience in my opinion.

I don't really like the all-out fighting games like Tekken and all that. It's decent playing at a friend's house, but I could never see myself buying or even renting a Fighting game like that.

I guess the only thing that I really dislike are Sports games - hopefully the Wii'll change all that.

I like games with a really thick plot - series like Legacy of Kain, Silent Hill, Max Payne and Prince of Persia.
