#836: "Can do!"

This one took forever to hammer out script-wise -- seriously, like four hours -- but I think it turned out rather well in the end.

mammothtank 04-20-2007 11:28 PM

Why is he wearing the dress again?

Why is he wearing the dress again?

Also, the LWs are turning into the mob? When did this happen?

Five seconds ago, when Thief thought of it.

Loyal 04-20-2007 11:32 PM

I like how Thief didn't even need to turn around to know what RM was talking about.

It's the small details that really get me.

Redneck Scientist 04-20-2007 11:32 PM

Well, damn. Now I can't wait for Tuesday.

It's more accurate to ask when didn't they become the mob?

Or rather, not accurate at all.

Regulus Tera 04-20-2007 11:33 PM

I like RM's way of life: when violence cannot solve everything, prostitution will always be the solution.

It should be legal, though. As if that's going to stop Red Mage!

Chaos Mage 04-20-2007 11:36 PM

So now we have Don Vito Corletheif?

BM would be Sunny

Fighter would be Luca Brasy

and RM as Fredo

<--- Godfather Nerd

Used_Potato 04-20-2007 11:53 PM

Dear RM,
You are batshit creepy.
Yours sincerely,
Me

A rare moment indeed when something makes BM look like a saint. Typically because Thief's plans usually involve legal deceit as opposed to outright extortion.

Nice job as usual.

RickZarber 04-21-2007 12:00 AM

Wow. Just... wow. I'm shocked. I never thought of Debora as that "kind of girl", honestly.

Dark Seraphim 04-21-2007 12:15 AM

Me neither...

I do wonder if only RM is into roleplaying, or if she does it too...

Truce 04-21-2007 12:31 AM

Look on the bright side.

They're not wearing the MARTAN uniform.

Kroze Gamegod 04-21-2007 01:06 AM

I just lost it when I hit the panel with Debora in it....
Totally lost it...
RM's antics never cease to amuse me... especially when they involve a dress.

Flay Crimsonwind 04-21-2007 01:08 AM

I love how now, instead of trying to stop BM's acts of violence so that he may profit off of a place, thief's actually calculating in BM's killer urges into a workable plan for extortion, instead of it just becoming "what happens." He's learning.

bluestarultor 04-21-2007 01:08 AM

I like the fact he kept his feathered hat for that kind of "bad girl" look. :D

Nucleus 04-21-2007 01:43 AM

And so the Anonymouston Revenue Service is founded.

mattblack04 04-21-2007 03:36 AM

YES! I was hoping Debora would return. (S)he is my favorite character. Always popping in at the right moments. And I liked the feather hat staying on this time. And that RM is into prostitution is just great. Hope to see a panel of him/her in the background soliciting someone with mob-esque results.

henke37 04-21-2007 03:47 AM

Now, where did fighter go?
And more importantly, where did all those other characters(WM, real wariors, bad villians and king steve) go?

Amake 04-21-2007 04:38 AM

I like the panel after where Thief says "different services" where he and BM sort of stand around staring at their feet and try to get R.M. Hooker out of their minds. Perfect "Let's just pretend this never happened" moment. xD

Or maybe they're thinking "What were we talking about again?" It's hard to be sure.

Satan's Onion 04-21-2007 04:45 AM

So, refresh my memory. Which skill is it that allows Red Mage such lightning-quick costume changes? Seriously, it's mildly defiant of physics, this quick-change ability.

Amake 04-21-2007 06:25 AM

When you want something with all your heart, it's always possible. :)

Waaay too much practice.

TopHatAssassin 04-21-2007 08:06 AM

He's a ninja, clearly. Hidden under all that genius lies the cold, calculating steel trap of a mind that is a ninja's.
As well, 'tis indeed a joyous day, for Debora has returned to us in all her exceptionally strange yet majestic glory! Huzzah! I honestly didn't expect her to be one to offer up such services, though. This might in fact change forevermore the relations between Deborah/RM and the rest of the group.

It's no skill he's just always wearing the dress under his cloths. It is seriously time for them to take RM to Dr. Impowitz. It's also nice to see that Thief and BM are acting so friendly towards each other, of course this only happens when a large group of people are being completely screwed over.

32bit-RedMage 04-21-2007 01:07 PM

Am i the only one who noticed that normally when :rmage: wears a dress
he REALLY looks a girl, but this time (with his hat still on) he looks
way too "masculine" ??????

Yer I noticed that too. I think RM chin also looks very manly in this comic which adds considerably to the amount of wrong which usually accompanies his (ahem.) transformation.

Also brilliant comic, nearly feel off my chair!

Mirai Gen 04-21-2007 02:37 PM

Kurosen, you're going to hate Psychobilly Freakout on any difficulty. And just wait till you hit Misoulu.

Good comic today. The fact that Theif didn't turn around really was gold.

I figured they were quietly shaking their heads.

Melfice 04-21-2007 02:55 PM

And he's gonna hate Misirlou as well, won't he Mirai?

In any case, I endorse this comic. Very funny.

Not yet. I can 5-star every song on Medium except for Psychobilly. And it's not even a close call. I get 90% if I'm lucky. ARGH.

Sryen 04-21-2007 03:52 PM

Yeah, Misirlou is easy for me on hard, I can't even finish pyschobilly freakout.

Nice comic.

If you can five-star everything on Medium, go up to Hard.

Unless you're going after the Five Star guitars, in which case go right ahead, but just know that Pyschobilly and Mis-whatever rank up there as the toughest songs in the game, right next to good old Jordan and Six.

And you're gonna loathe it on Expert.

Jordan on Expert is physically impossible, well almost.

I've managed to get five star on all medium songs, it's not that hard, considering you only have four frets and the occational fifth one in some songs, like freebird.

But misirlou is fun to play, you can't help thinking about Pulp Fiction.

I actually have a good explanation for this...
RM uses Dress spheres from Final Fantasy X-2....
It works... but now I can't get the mental image out of my head with RM and Yuna talking about fashion tips together.

...fuck. Thats an image i didn't need.

Funny comic however I found ReDeborah to be creepy with her hat on.

Mirai Gen 04-22-2007 03:27 AM

Damn, this would be a perfect time to link to the image I had.

At one point I had fanart of Auron in Yuna's Gunslinger dress sphere. It was deliciously nightmarish.

henke37 04-22-2007 04:40 AM

I think I figured out how thief didn't have to look to realize what rm was doing.
He simple heard by rm's voice that rm had changed.

Or he knew by the fact that it was Red Mage talking about performing services.

Or the fact that it was Red Mage and he hadn't crossdressed for a while.

Meister 04-22-2007 12:30 PM

Or just the fact that it's Red Mage.

Khael! 04-22-2007 12:57 PM

Okay, because I can (and don't feel like doing worse):
http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k2...MNoJudging.jpg

I'm surprised he hasn't flipped out like that in the comic yet. Ah well. Soon enough. The hat has to go, it's too ugly/disturbing. At least Fightar isn't around to have his little childish mind emotionally scarred...

...Cue Onion Kid.

Mirai Gen 04-22-2007 01:37 PM

You need to have that cosplayer (Be it you or anyone else) perform the Rite of Stat Swap on a scroll of vellum.

The real question you should be asking is why isn't he taking off the hat?

Rm is a kapelophiliac?

Kurosen 04-23-2007 02:21 PM

Actually, he wears his hat because I had scripted for RM to wander away with the usual "sad face" pose while Thief and Black Mage stared at each other in silent awkward horror. Or, if there wasn't space, we'd just see RM walking away "sad face"-style with only Thief in view.

Turns out I didn't like "sad face" with the dress. It looked kinda stupid. So I skipped that whole bit. But I liked the extra level of weirdness the hat gave the scene, it implied that RM had made a conscious choice to keep it on for reasons beyond anyone, so it stayed.

Karariv 04-23-2007 06:40 PM

lol, theif is getting more used to Black Mage, RM gets in touch with his alternate self again, and the reactions of Thief and Black Mage are just brilliant.
I just love it

Khael! 04-23-2007 08:10 PM

HATE!!

Mirai, umm... Does The Rite of Stat Swap involve a dress? Because I ain't doin' that.

Oh. Otherwise, my character sheet has already been taken care of. Cheatery and all.

"kapelophiliac". Wikipedia, how I hate you! Now I must use your search function in the false hopes of learning only just enough to understand, but not enough to destroy my sanity for the third time.

...Hate!

EDIT: Even Wiki and Google were unabe to tell me anything. DAMN!! Now I have to depend on you sick uncontrollable hooligans to (mildly!) inform me. Noooo!

I imagine that considering the context, kapelophilia is a love for/of hats.

I have 2 major problems with this.

1) No posts for like 4 days.

2) This post contains little to no content.

Number 2 is the big one. And I mean, if the thread was more recent, it'd probably be more okay. But since the post you're quoting was posted a week ago, and two more comic threads have surfaced, this is an example of spam.

Please don't spam.
