Almost! It actually stands for Recommended Dietary Allowance, and measured how much of a given nutrient would be sufficient to meet the requirements of at least 98% of the population, and was used until 1997, until being folded into the trans-national standard known as the Reference Daily Intake!

I promise I almost certainly might not have intendended to originally concieve of how this might conceptually be developed into what could potentially and through no fault of my own develop into a bantrap, and very well possibly be willing to consider not doing something like but not necessarily exactly the same as that, in the future.
