Knock knock.
With all her running around, it took John longer than expected to find the Mother. But he eventually found his way to her door. Knock knock. "Oh Mother, may I come in?" John still had a bit of time left with this healthy bout, and the protecters were busy with wrapping up the Death Book incident. |
Laurella turned towards the door. She had just finished Question 3, completing her homework.
"Stacey, I'll see you tomorrow, okay?" "Sure thing, Laura. Don't tell Gary what we think of him." "Credit me with some intelligence, Stace. I'm not that fuckin' stupid." She hit the button on her earpiece to end the call and removed it, putting it back in the drawer. "Yeah, come in. It's not locked." |
"Let's have some fun, shall we?" John wore an evil grin as he reached into his pockets to pull something out. "Do you know how to play Speed?" He asked as he pulled out a deck of cards.
|
Caleb rubbed a sore spot on his back, he knew his muscles would ache in the morning. He watched as the Death Book ran off and was equally confused. Why would a death book leave in the middle of a battle when his mission was to kill two men. He then came to a rather frightening conclusion. "You, don't think they got to Laurella do you? Once they did that the probably wouldn't bother trying to kill us, who was guarding her?" Caleb was genuinely concerned.
|
"Speed, huh? I haven't played any kind of card game since I was eleven years old. I might have to look it up on Wikipedia or something."
At least Laurella was game for it. It might help think of what to cook for everyone tonight. |
(((OOC: Er...Harm?...It's really hard to have Duncan pull up information on people when he's at his front door demanding to know who they are, no?))
As Silva made his overly flashy exit, Duncan muttered an incantation. I’m sick and tired of people coming in and out of my property unannounced and uninvited, and if this guy thinks a little bravado is going to let him get off scott-free… Around the Manor there came into being what generally equated to a very low powered, practically invisible spider web. It wasn’t designed to stop or even slow down people passing through it, only to cling to them. However this guy left the grounds, he’d have a lovely little string attached to him that Duncan could follow. Tessa came running over. “Duncan are you o…who the heck are they?” she said, sliding to stop. “I’m not sure, but would you find out, please? I have a runner I’m going to tract.” Duncan said, walking towards his garage. “You’re tracking the Death Books?” Tessa asked, looking surprised. “Oh, no…nonononono. You think I had time to throw up a tracker spell? No, we had another trespasser who thinks that all he needs is a little magic to get away clean. He apparently helped fight the Death Books, so I don’t think he’s hunting Laurella, but I’d rather track him down and make sure than wait for him to make another appearance.” Duncan stopped, and pointed at Troy. “Oh, they claim they came to give Laurella her backpack back. While that could be true, it wouldn’t explain why they decided to climb over the fence in the middle of a firefight. I don’t think they’re hostile either…but, well…loose ends and all that.” Duncan walked off, leaving Tessa looking at the twins and the wounded old guy. With a sigh, she brought up her radio. “Can I get a medic to the front gate, we got a wounded man.” She said, and turned back to the twins. “Okay…who the heck are you, again?” ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ “Who was guarding her? Everyone else, man. You think I’d pull off other Protectors to walk into a trap?” Nathaniel slung the rifle onto his back. “And to answer the other question…nah, I don’t think they got her. If they did, I’d be getting a phone call right about now. And if they did get her, there’s nothing we can do about it now.” Nathaniel gave Caleb a less than pleasant look. “So, Caleb, was there any particular reason why you decided that I would want to meet with a Sealer?” |
Jacob sighed. Today had been an 'eventful' day, and it was still not over. He was finishing putting a simple bandage on his shoulder when the call came on the radio for a medic at the front gate. 'That'd be my que...' Jacob thought. He put his shirt back on over the bandage, winced a little when he put his rifle on his back, then ignored it completely as he made his way to the front gates. "Medic, on the way." He said into the radio.
=== The front gates were a scene of confusion; petals on the ground and lightly flowing through the air, 2 unidentified students with looks of anxiousness on them, and an old man who was clutching his chest. Jacob moved towards the man, getting his medkit out. "Where does it hurt?" Jacob asked. |
After having 'confronted' Death Books and later gone back inside the security of the house, Elissa decided to get onto her secondary job.
"Now where the hell's that demon?" she muttered to herself, scanning throughout the house. Then, the obviousness of the situation came to mind and she made her way to Laurella's room at a fairly brisk pace before stopping at the door and knocking, "Hey, Laurella, is John in there?" |
Gael stood in the hallway, still slightly surprised by the sudden dissapearance of the Death Books to give up, just like that? What were they after? Turning to Jimmy, Gael smiled, holding out his hand, "Thanks for your help, I wouldn't have been able to stop them." He paused for a moment, before continuing, "Did you get injured at all? I can heal anything that isn't too serious."
|
"I'll be fine," Jimmy replied, with a slight tone of irritation. Not so much at Gael, as at the fact that the Death Book had gone and vanished on him, thus robbing him of his, sure to be, very cathartic ass beating.
"Just a nice bruise on my wrist and a bump on my head," he explained, followed by a rather heavy sigh. "Fuckin' cowards," he muttered beneath his breath, as he looked at the place the death book had been laying. |
