How are those animated gifs made?
Yes, I really don't know. Will anyone humor my question?
|
Ever make a flip book? Its pretty much the same princible, except with Gifs & an animated Gif program. Basically, you start with one image, follow it up with another slightly altered image, so on and so forth.
If you're asking about how you get the image from one frame to be in the same spot as the next, well that's something that isn't easy to explain. For my sprites, I actually make them at something like the 40 x 40 size, and then enlarge them after the fact. This makes it really easy to keep my sprites in the proper position. Plus, making my frames that small makes for quick animation work. Sky Warrior Bob |
PhotoShop will animate gifs right? As soon as I have some extra money, I am planning on buying a good art program but I want to make sure I get the one that does everything both good and easy. I'm going to animate my own gifs based on sprites from my fav games. Not that I could ever pass some of the talent in here </suck up>.

PhotoShop itself does not animate things. It's a program that comes with Photoshop, Animation Shop or something...

If you want to make a quick gif without the muss and fuss of buying expensive photoshop software, you can download a fifteen day free trial of a program called coffeeshop or coffeeimage (I think... I found it pretty easily in a google search). I personally have no talent what-so-ever, and I created my animated avatar (I think it is pretty good considering the file size restrictions).
Since I'm in the arts and crafts section, what do you guys think about the images I used in my "Ghost Who Walks Saga?" |
SWB, I think that enlarging from a small image like that would really enhance the pixely effect of the image, too, which is good. That's supposed to essentially be me saying, "Your avatar has always looked awesome to me." I also like your analogy to the flip-book. I wasn't thinking of the question like that.
Yeah, Photoshop let's you animate...... via use of the bundled Adobe ImageReady program. It's allot like Photoshop but lacks many of the stronger editing abilities. If you were to get a hold of Pshop, I'd recommend editing frames in Photoshop and then transfering to ImageReady... but, anyway, that's more information than is needed, especially since, as Ghost here points out, there are alternative methods. |
Well, I'll admit that making a small image to large can cause issuse, if you use a program that uses aliasing. But I don't, so I don't have issues.

Does anyone know which program from the macromedia set makes animations? Does Fireworks or is it just Flash?
|
Adobe imageready can make gif animations (My avatar was made using that)
Thoug i didnīt like it... paint shop pros animationshop is better! (IMHO) and there lots other gif makers! some of them free! |
I'm honestly not trying to be rude, Daer-San, but do you read threads when you post in them?
