Evil's Return Discussion Thread 5: Just Because.
 

For an upcoming post to make sense, I need to explain something I've forgotten to up to this point.

Have you noticed the distinct lack of necromancers, despite the fact that evil cults are stereotypically filled to the bring of the guys, and this RP has been nothing if not stereotypical?

Well, there's a reason.

And before anyone asks: no, you can't have necromancy.

In the context of this setting, necromancy is, quite honestly, beyond the capabilities of most beings. Only a handful of beings ever to walk the Earth have been capable of raising the dead...all of them either outcast demons or fallen angels. For one thing, the power it takes to animate a object that has no life force with a "soul" is immense. This goes beyond doing something like creating a golem or causing a chair to dance on it's own, as necromancy is basically creating a mockery of life, and, unlike the before-mentioned golems and such, are at least quasi-senitent, albeit under the direction of the necromancer. This goes far beyond the abilities of even the most powerful human mages...even beyond demon hybrids.

As stated before, only Outcasts and Fallen (and the occassional summoned Greater Demon) will generally have the ability to use necromancy. This is one of the things that make them so fearsome a foe to face, because, given fact that they don't pop up very often (game-time wise, the last one was over 700 years ago), none of the organizations have a real concept on how to fight the undead.

And no...I'm not foreshadowing...no sir...not at all...:sweatdrop

May I direct your attention to the fourth paragraph...the one that starts with "And".

That's a sentence.

And bah, I wanted zombies. Given, he would never be able to use them, since I never intend to give him another healthy period, which is the only time he could use said zombie skills. But it's nice to know he could bust out some undead goodness if the story required it.

Edit - The necromancy thing got me thinking. If the mother was killed, then undeaded, would she still give birth to the gate opening/closing kid?

Fuck necromancy and turning me into an undead, I want cosplay powers damn it!

However, if you're going to make me into an undead, I want to be a vampire. I gots to feast on blood. That's how I roll.

Hey guys, sorry I haven't been posting. My anti-spyware software just tried to uninstall itself for some reason after expiring, and in doing so, it deleted all of my desktop icons and my task bar, and who knows what else. My computer is currently nothing more than my lovely wallpaper.

It's currently at the Geek Squad being repaired. It should be back soon and in full working order (GODDAMN SPYSWEEPER I HATE YOU AND YOU'RE STUPID-- Ahem.) but until then I'm only going to be online at school. Dunno how this'll affect my RPing abilities...
